Sen. Rand Paul, Kentucky Republican, said Sunday he worried that the Democratic effort to impeach President Trump would dumb down and destroy the country.
He characterized the push to remove Mr. Trump from office as a disagreement over policy led by Democrats who dont like President Trump, they dont like his demeanor, so theyve decided to sort of criminalize politics.
But I dont think its a good thing, he said on CNNs State of the Union. I dont think its a good day for the country. I think its a sad day because I hope it doesnt devolve into that every president like in different parts of Latin America where we either impeach or throw presidents in jail because we dont like their politics. I think that will really dumb down and destroy the country.

“”””””””’ dumb down and destroy the country. “”””””
Too late Jim.
The countrys already pretty dumbed down and destroyed
This is the second of these other-than “impeach and disembowel” stories that ultra-never-Trump CNN has placed before its followers today.
beat me to it.
Too late!
If Trump wins by a landslide, that will do a lot to restore my hope for this country to at least some extent.
I lost all confidence in the American voter’s thinking processes in 1992. Welcome to Earth, Rand; how was your time on Pluto?
Congress is the last body to be complaining about ‘dumbing down’.
You said it.
After Joy Behar, Jake Tapper, Joy Reid, Don Lemon, Rosie O'Donnell, Al Green, Maxine Waters,Hank Johnson....Then it could go lower? Maybe the young Millenials who learned from that generation. True.
During a House Armed Services Committee hearing on March 25, 2010 concerning the U.S. military installation on the island of Guam, Johnson said "My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize", to which Admiral Willard replied, "We don't anticipate that."
Impeachment will produce the largest citizen armed march on DC this country has ever seen.
Like Fez said on “that 70’s show” while they tried to get him to understand how scary Halloween is, he said “In my town, they hung the Mayor from a tree when I was 6”
What rock has he been living under?
That ship sailed LONG ago.
I have more hope for it now that the Brits have done it.
Hank Johnson’s 15 seconds of fame
smile smile smile
well, the admiral has been doing a good job of keeping Guam balanced and thus afloat! let’s give him credit for a job well done, eh?
Perhaps he should have also mentioned the Libertarian Party,
which also just announced its support for impeachment.
Too late Jim.

No kidding.
If the population was as well informed as in the 1920’s Obama would have gotten nowhere near the White House.
He has it backwards. Dumbing down populace led to impeachment.
