Along those lines:

It has been my experience in a clogged pipe in the laundry room or elsewhere ...... if the clog slowly and eventually allows the water to dissipate and go down ..... the clog is not yet actually gone. That clog needs a harsh HARD clean-out subsequently.

Those "slow seeps" are not necessarily an answer .... but I get your drift.
