Stock markets in Europe and the United States shrugged off the Dec. 18 vote by the U.S. House of Representatives to impeach President Donald Trump....
U.S. STOCKS ROSE TO ALL TIME HIGHS on Dec. 19, as investors took news of the impeachment in stride....The market knows the impeachment will not make it through the Senate, Muir said. Its a non-event for the markets. You can see that in the fact that the spooz were unchanged overnight.
In addition, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said an initial U.S.China trade deal would be signed in early January, adding to optimism that was fueled by a breakthrough in trade talks last week.
Further boosting optimism around the strength of the U.S. economy and labor market, data on Dec. 19 showed the number of Americans filing applications for unemployment benefits dropping from more than a two-year high last week.
Labor market strength is underpinning consumer spending, keeping the economy on a moderate growth path despite headwinds from the trade tensions and slowing global growth.

Pelosi and democrats stock going down down down.
Well, since the ridiculous turn of events in the Schiff/Nad/Nan show its looking like PDJT is locking in that second term so the market is cruising right along.
Not really all that hard for common sense business leaders to understand and react to.
.
So far theres no impeachment since pelosi hasnt delivered any charges to the senate. Unless she does very soon, theyll be a nonevent , a nullify anyway. Finally, McConnell sees theres no basis for the ( fake) charges in the house and will make very very very short order of them. Like maybe within an hour
Imagine what our economy could be doing if Trump had a cooperative Congress. Just imagine!
I do not think that word means what you think it means.
Agree...it generally doesn’t take much for the markets to wiggle, they rose instead. All things appear to be ‘comfortably’ humming along in the US...
I did read some stores will be closing but that is what retail does every year at this time.....they close any that are not producing and consolidate where they invest. Just goes with the Industry.
I wondered about that....someone needs some more covfefe.
Frankly I’ve never seen a President accompllish so much for our country ‘without’ the do nothing House.
I predict that Trump will wear the impeachment like a badge of honor...a lot like Martin Luther King looked at his unfair imprisonment as a badge of honor..how Allied Resistance fighters looked at imprisonment by the Nazis as a badge of honor...the same way Christians imprisoned by Communists look at it as a badge of honor....
I see Trump's second term as being even bigger and better than his first term. The House and Senate will be led by his acolytes, and even the spineless weakling Republicans will fall inline with what he wants (An Army of Lambs led by a Lion).
It’s beyond amazing IMO. I’d be amazed at what he’s done if he had done it with cooperation.
Since when do politicians keep campaign promises!?!
AFAIC he could include Ryan’s House in his “do nothing” accusation but DJT just pushes forward no matter what.
I’ve thought of that too. Not only that, this nation could have been improved so much more. Hey, even the Republicans in Congress for the first two years thumbed their noses at him.
It’s sickening how bad it was.
SPOT ON !
Shhh. These idiots are holding prices down during one of the countries greatest economic booms. If you are not expanding now, you are missing a big opportunity.
Absolutely, DO. The economy is just one of many things DJT has done good things for and could have improved even more if America was the a priority for the rest of the pols.
THANKS!
My waist line is getting a little bigger.
