Under what President/Party was FISA formed? What was the argument for its formation?
The very idea of secret courts is unconstitutional. It is anathema to the constitution. Star Chambers are unconstitutional.

The chief justice of the Supreme Court appoints the Fisa judges. This is done in anonymity and is most dangerous.
The FISA judges have done much good and much bad. Their potential for bad far exceeds their potential for good. This court damn near accomplished a soft coup-de-tat. In effect they were part of a cabal of sedition. It must be disbanded.
No Star Chambers in a free country. They don’t pass constitutional muster. Not ever in the Founders intents. they were opposed to this despotism.
The FISA Judges are either the dumbest people on the planet or in on the coup. Take your pick.

Only after she’s indicted as a co-conspirator, removed FORCIBLY from the bench and scorned across every news outlet, live and print! FTB!
The numbers I have seen show that despite effectively a 100% approval rate of FISA requests, less than 0.5% result in arrests or indictments. Sounds like either a bunch of fishing expeditions, or the warrants are just being used as CYA for illegal surveillance of American citizens. I think a special prosecutor should be looking at every FISA application submitted for the past 10 years.
Roberts’ mistake is that he waited too long to do this. Kimberly Strassel in the Wall Street Journal on Friday lambasted Collyer. She knew all along. Ignored damning evidence from Nunes. And did nothing. This week she is suddenly outraged.
This spills over onto Roberts of course because he also knew and did nothing. (Heck I knew!) But Roberts firing Collyer is just the first step in cleaning up what is a huge mess. We should focus attention on his inaction up to this point, not that he has now finally cashiered her.
