Mary Grabar is a very good researcher/scholar so I strongly recommend reading her book.
The reviewer, however, left out the fact that Zinn was at one time a secret member of the Communist Party (I believe in the 1950’s) and never admitted it to anyone. He posed as a leftist/liberal, not a hardcore communist/sympathizer. I believe it was Accuracy in Media, then led by excellent researcher Cliff Kincaid, who got Zinn’s files from the FBI’s FOIA library.
His record of supporter communist/Marxist fronts is massive, be it for the CPUSA or the Trotskyite Socialist Workers Party or the once Trots/now back to Stalinist-NORK Workers World Party.
There should be a lot on his communist support activities at www.keywiki.org and www.DiscoverTheNetwork.org.

As soon as the democrats kill the second amendment and get the next Hillary or Obama in the White House.

My wife is Levi Wade and Virginia Barksdales gg granddaughter

Their grandfather donated the land for the District of Columbia
They never recovered
You gets a hint of faded gentility and that’s about it
Wade was arguably Tennessee’s largest landowner at the time and Virginia had two illustrious brothers including one a general killed at Gettysburg
It’s a very small connect from MacPherson to Zinn in my opinion
Both vilify southerners to make brownie points with minorities and lefties or so they think....incorrectly in my view

My gg grandfather fought Boylstons Miss cavalry at 16 and was at Vicksburg etc
His father my ggg grandfather fought as well and in his 40s
And so on
I lay a wreath at the miss monument here at McGavock cemetery in Franklin TN annually for that
