Yeah, I think you’re exactly right. It’s always great to see people enjoying their lives, but sad that there’s so much going on in Washington that affects them significantly, yet they’re mostly oblivious to it.
And I don't think it is that they are intentionally oblivious to it as it is that they have elected their representatives and expect them to take care of business.
But the "taking care of business" part is the part that isn't getting done. The political class gets up to DC and sees the money and power and caves to the establishment and Deep State and becomes "one" with them.
Forget the constituents except at election time and through meaningless rhetoric. Throw them a bone and some red meat occasionally and keep them happy while the politicians are feathering their own beds and following their own agendas to enrich themselves.
I'm older and retired and have the luxury of having the time to keep up with the shenanigans of the national politics. But even that doesn't guarantee attention and interest in the political class.
My wife is retired, a sharp woman, college educated, former officer in the military, retired from two careers, raised a family and runs our cattle farm now. She voted for Trump but she is not interested in politics at all. Doesn't read or watch the news. She focuses on the cows and our two year old granddaughter we are raising full time.
The reason the democRATS (and let's not leave out the establishment Republicans and RINOs) can get away with so much crap and stay under the radar of the American people is that they know what I just expounded on. People are busy and don't pay enough attention to the thieves at our doors. It's sad but true.
But folks are awakened in Virginia now, where the Marxists are trying to take people's guns and 2nd amendment rights away from them. I predict with the backlash, that the democRATS will have to back down on their promise to grab guns away from law-abiding citizens. It's call tyranny and the American people can luckily see thorough that, busy or not.
