A year ago, my son gave me VDH’s book on WW II. I am about half or a little better through it.

It is unreadable. it is very hard, even for one reasonably versed in American and world history

That is one of his more analytic and intricate books, I’ll admit. Just as the article for this thread uses the Battle of the Bulge to illustrate the Trump-globalist conflict, that book uses various battles within WW2 to illustrate how and why those separate disputes turned into a single war and why the underlying causes meant that the battlefield superiority of Germany and Japan meant less than their leaders expected.

I read John Toland’s book on Battle of Bulge many years ago...I found it in my local branch of Los Angeles City Public Library. I thought that it was a good book.

I am sure there are other good books on Battle of Bulge...
