Former Hawaii Democratic governor calls on Gabbard to resign

Former Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie (D) on Monday called on Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) to resign from Congress, citing her "present" vote on impeaching President Trump and absence from Capitol Hill due to her presidential campaign.

“I feel very strongly the 2nd District of Hawaii must be fully represented,” Abercrombie, a Democrat who previously served in the House for nearly two decades, said at a press conference, according to the Honolulu Civil Beat.

Abercrombie said Gabbard should step down and allow a special election to fill her seat. Gabbard, who has served in the House since 2013, has already said that she will not seek reelection to focus on her presidential campaign.

You seem enamored with Tulsi. Are those the basic qualifications you look for in a candidate?

TULSI GABBARD endorsed Communist BERNIE SANDERS in 2016.

Mr Abercrombie should stick to what he does best, like photographing little boys in the park

Do you feel that all Abercrombie's male relatives passing him around like a pack of smokes in prison when he was a kid caused him to become a serial homosexual pedophile in his adult years?

tulsi is your typical leftist loser. She will continue to be a loser. Why some FReepers like her makes me wonder about their ability to think critically.

They are not able to control Gabbard. They are afraid she will run on a third party ticket for President.

How stupid of Abercrombie.

My guess is that Gabbard will run as the Dim nominee in 2024 (everyone else having disgraced themselves this year and into 2020), and depending on how the economy has landed by then, and who in the GOP runs, Gabbard could win, then.

LOL, Gov. Pothead who was “there” when the immaculate birth occurred (obamy’s that is) and supposedly only found a post-it note in the legal birth records. However, Sr.’s college friends wrote statements they didn’t have a clue about a baby or Stanley Ann.

Abercrombie has the same power I do in asking for a government official to step down, “Hey, Nancy, you should step down!” Nope, that didn’t change a thing.

Do we really need Hawaii as a military base any more? If we were to expel that filthy cesspool from the union would the Chinese pick it up? Alaska was a good idea...Hawaii was not!

I vote to eject Hawaii, Fine with 49.

What will Canada give us in trade for Hawaii? Many Canadians spend half their year seeking out global warming.

No. I think all the other candidates are proving themselves incompetent, and as they tear each other apart their winner (Warren I predict) will enter Nov 2020 soiled and lose soundly. I am not “pro” Gabbard. I just think she acts and thinks more rationally than the others and after their 2020 disaster her star will rise among the Dim voters. Then we don’t know where the economy will be, but my guess is a recession beginning in 2021. Then we don’t know who will rin for POTUS for the GOP. Then we have the U.S. political cycle which historically sees the White House shift paries often following a two term president. All those things together I think will give Gabbard a good shot - in 2024.

Play back to me the part where I’m enamored with her. I’m doing comparative analysis of the Dem candidates.

You would be better served spending your time spreading the good news about PRESIDENT TRUMP’S accomplishment and doing research and analysis for a qualified conservative for 2024. The last person we need in the White House is a pseudo communist.

For the good of AMERICA, don’t give TULSI GABBARD any credence.

Seems you might spend your time actually reading what I wrote instead of telling me what to do with my time.

It is not that “I” give Gabbard so much credit, or care so terribly much what he propective policies are.

I simply think that post-a-2020 disaster for the Dims, the harder left in the Dims will stand last chance next time than will Gabbard. It is not my wishing her well, it is merely that I think more Dims will in time, and by 2024 - because of various conditions at the time, the Dims will chose her.

Conservatives will have to do more than find a really good POTUS candidate to replace Trump. There may be a recession in the next four years, that the GOP holding the White House at the time will have to overcome the politics from, no matter who their candidate is. And, that great Conservative candidate will have to be maybe more than Reaganesque to overcome the American body politic habit of changing the party in the White House at least (usually) every 8 years. Then again even a lousy GHWBush manage to carry the Reagan mantle for at least four more years. So who knows.

None of this detracts from my always seeking and supporting great Conservatice candidates for office.

Let’s see what happens between now and 2024 and we will find out if I am right about Gabbard and the Dims.

All sorts of events between now and then can change the priorities of current issues, change how the pols respond and change how folks feel about those responses. As Conservatives we need to always see the importance of our underlying principles, through all sorts of changes, trying to not waiver from them even when we are adjusting specific policies.
