You know I wrote in a post the other day that received some controversy that both The Bible and The Constitution are dead, long live both.
Some understood and some with good reason didn’t.
What I meant was the words of the Bible are not open to modern translation by every generation or by dems to warp it to their sick needs.
The words are not to be changed and the constitution, just like the Bible, is not a breathing and living document, like bill clinton said it was. That’s code word for saying “we can alter it.”
We can’t.
One is the Word of God and I believe the other is the word of man inspired by God.
Both mean what they say and say what they mean.
But Deuteronomy says it in a much better and classier way than I could ever hope to.
His and their principles/values/morals (Righteousness) are immutable and eternal, but they are very much alive in that they can be applied to everything eternally. In fact, as we know, humans and the things they create which are not conformed to God's Righteousness die...so as God says, He is the only Way to real life--eternal life.
Also, as you said, the Constitution is written by man but inspired by God. Therefore it can and should be amended where we find that man has erred in conforming it perfectly to God and His Word.
One final note.
The Bible is also alive in that God speaks to us through it literally. He seems to inspire us as we read His Word...like the Bible is a living Transmitter of His Righteousness and Love.
