The recurring effort to subordinate Christianity to the reactionary public ethics of those who do not like Republican presidents is enjoying another resurgence. The recent editorial in Christianity Today and editorials in places like the Christian Post basically assert the following: President Trump is an exceptionally immoral President and unethical model and therefore any Christian who supports him is as bad or worse than him. This is a profoundly flawed argument and deserves to be soundly rejected by the public.
An important insight into Christianitys intrinsic meaning can be found in a relatively sophisticated critique of Christianity: What do Moses, David, and the apostle Paul all have in common? Minimally they share a common tradition of being major authors of the Bible as well as personal authors of murder. Skeptics of Christianity utilize this irony to attack the credibility of Christian origins. It is however an important purpose that God has in redeeming the unredeemable and acting out His plan in acts of ultimate irony. Of course, Trump has not committed anything close to the crimes noted by these examples, despite the hyperbole of his antagonists like the Pope, who compared the President to King Herod. Even Jesus himself was found guilty of crimes by multiple forums all too sure of their own arrogant judgments. The fact that immoral figures take leading roles in the Bible is not only unsurprising, it is rather expected. Christians taking the time to read Jesus genealogy for Christmas will find multiple prostitutes in his lineage and Marys own pregnancy caused moral concern for her fiancée. The idea that God cannot use immoral human beings for a glorious purpose betrays a complete lack of attention to the most important truths of Christian hermeneutics as suggested by Biblical texts.

I heard somewhere that Trump saw a married woman naked, bathing on her roof bathtub, got her pregnant, and had her husband killed so that he could marry her. But it may be someone else I’m thinking about.
That despicable worm.

Ultimately, the response to the listing of the presidents real or imagined flaws should be the same as that of Abraham Lincoln to the accusers of Ulysses S. Grant: "I cannot spare this man; he fights!"
Exhibit-A: Rahab the harlot became Christ’s earthly grand or great-grandmother.
The left has probably chuckled for years about how easy it is to get glass house dwellers to throw stones.
Typo...David’s not Christs. Although Christ did come from that lineage.(I knew what you meant)

Read the Bible: “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” My friend, when we elected Trump, we were not looking for a pastor or deacon to run the nation; we were electing a president to run the country. God appointed David as king over Israel, and defined him as “a man after God’s own heart.” Yet, David committed adultery and murdered his lover’s husband. At the same time, if I had a choice between David as king, or Ahab as king, I would vote for David. According to Romans 13 -— President Trump is a “minister of God,” whether you choose to believe it or not. He’s not perfect; but then again, neither are you.
Theyd succeed in perverting Christian moral values against pdjt if -(1) they could come up with even one crime against him. Or (2) if they could come up with even one D candidate that isnt such a stinking moral cesspool him/ herself.
Additionally, old Jewish tradition is that it was one of Joshua’s spies who married her. The Bible recounts that they took her and her family out of Jericho all the way to the “camp of Israel”.
“As a Christian, I should be against a President who is appointing EXTREMELY Christian-friendly Federal judges (where all the power is at in this country), and get back to the important business of installing fanatical atheist partisan Democrat Federal “judges” who WILL make me “bake the cake”, “kill the fetus” and force my children to be LGBTQWERTY Sodomites.”
During odd years, democrats revert back to saying all Christians are nutcakes and whackadoodles.
I would compare Trump to Cyrus, a heathen king who nevertheless liked and admired the Hebrew people and put the wheels in motion for them to return to their homeland.
Nor to be pope, although at this moment I think Trump is a more moral than the one they currently have.
Yep.
Gossip endlessly about how their young new pastor is a board game enthusiast and an introvert who prefers to be alone during his free time.
Then conspire against him to destroy his career and ministry with outright lies.
True story; I saw it happen.
Hopefully this hate will subside...
Has the hate against Jesus ever subsided?
Well, she and her family were wise enough to see that the Israelites were taking over. So Rahab demonstrated her good faith by helping the spies escape; and therefore received a promise of protection and immunity when the Hebrew army would return. So she and her family were spared, were assimilated into the Jewish nation, and Rahab became a forebear of our Savior. One little glimpse of God’s marvelous Grace.
I was going to mention that same story at first, but come to think of it you’re right that it wasn’t Trump. I was also thinking of just about every other man sent by God in times of need. Jonah had so little obedience that he ran away from God’s call, and how did that work out? Wasn’t Moses on the run because he committed murder, and yet God still called him? Wasn’t Abraham willing to kill his own son? Jacob deceiving his father to steal from his brother? John with the arrogance to call himself the disciple Jesus loved most? Peter’s denials? Thomas’s doubts? It’s almost like God goes out of His way to use flawed men to do His work.
Yes, President Trump is a sinful and imperfect man, just as we all are. But he’s the flawed man that America desperately needs for 2020 to build on his first four years of work for our country and for God’s world.
Leftists don’t even follow ‘The Letter Of The Law’ - except and only when its to their own advantage.
