That tells me they are not afraid of Pence or that they feel they can get rid of him or control him.
Trump is a once or twice in a century leader that is beating them, so I can see why they are desperate to remove him from office.
Also when they got rid of Nixon they first got rid of Agnew and put the establishment Ford in as VP. So they really do plan these things through.
