True, but without straight-ticket or (D)/(R)s, most people won't care and just skip those races. So your reps/other are at least mostly being voted in by people who care to vote, not just someone punching psuedo-random (or random) options.

Of course, I have lots of other voting ideas, such as purple fingers, only 48hrs (early voting is deployed mil ONLY), let parties run their own primaries, changing eligibility to military or landowner (or at least net taxpayer), and killing the 17th.
