You are cutting out a lot of American small businesses who sell on Amazon, when you do that.
I’ve bought scores of items on Amazon, over more than a decade. Only once was I really disappointed in an item I received - batteries that were spoiled - and only a few times did I have trouble with shipping/delivery. Returns and exchanges have been easy.
(The advice upthread to avoid buying from 3rd party sellers is useful. Reading reviews carefully also helps to avoid fake merchandise or sleazy sellers.)
