I’m actually in the process of retiring; tomorrow is my last official work day before I start transition leave.
I hired a young woman a few months ago. I’m pretty sure that her onboarding process did not include questions about her politics. I only wanted to hire her because of her qualifications.

Politics is NEVER supposed to come up in such processes, but it does and most often in covert ways.
You as a longtime employee were in a position to hire her. But it’s a safe bet that your political persuasions were noted without you even knowing.
Eventually, someone will note where your new hire stands politically, whether she is susceptible to grooming in the right direction, whether she is pliable, ductile, to a form and direction that is targeted for her. All this is likely noted without her even knowing.
Not all such screeners are able to pull off their true agenda without blabbing. As you know, many fed employees are not always a sharp knife in the drawer.
But the point is there are leftists in the ranks that should not be there. They are steeped in deception just as Schlichter is pointing out in his writeup here with respect to elected officials.
It’s more than just elected office holders.
I know we as Americans can’t believe it can happen here but the Left is operating here just as they have operated in other countries such as say France.As a young man I witnessed that. Also parts of UK, Italy and Germany. Fortunately, the UK has turned, decisively, away from the left’s deceptive direction. Italy too. Germany is still not with it.
Obama when first inaugurated, proclaimed that now would commence a ‘Fundamental Transformation’. In short, that meant government takeover by the Left.
The way they think is “We were so close, so very close to achieving full takeover and then TRUMP!” They are programmed to think the most important thing is life is to remove Trump because he is a symbol of everything they have been working towards eliminating or controlling and he keeps fighting back and not falling for their bait.
The lower level employees of the ‘resistance’ needed a morale boost. That boost came in the form of impeachment. We on the right know it’s a sham. But to the left, it’s a rallying point. It’s an injection of energy into the low level screeners planted into government offices that their impact is still important.
