Richard Jewell, The Movie: Member of the Gun Culture
AmmoLand ^ | 31 December, 2019 | Dean Weingarten

Richard Jewell, the movie, shows Richard as a clear, unapologetic member of the American gun culture. I saw Clint Eastwood's latest movie, Richard Jewell, on Friday evening, December 27th, 2019, in Fort Worth, Texas.

I have been a Clint Eastwood fan for decades. His work as a director has been excellent. I highly recommend the movie.

The plot of what happened to Richard is well known, as the political leaks of the FBI, the legacy media, and the multi-million dollar settlement for the defamation of Richard Jewell, testifies. Jewell's name was leaked to the media. He was portrayed as the bomber in the legacy media, for months.

It is not as well known that Richard Jewell was a skilled shooter and marksman.

A few things, as revealed in the movie, show Jewell was a dedicated, disciplined, far above average shooter. The most obvious is when his mother casually mentions that while a deputy, Jewell shot a near-perfect score of 98 of 100 during qualification. That is a level of accomplishment that takes discipline and dedication to attain. Jewell's mother was proud of his accomplishment.

A retired police officer, firearms instructor, and talented shooter told me police fall into the 90-7-3 rule. 90% of police officers see the gun as a necessity of the job. They are not interested in shooting and do the minimum to qualify.  7% are interested, take the training seriously, and do some work on their own to become competent, above-average shooters. 3% are dedicated, disciplined shooters who work at keeping and improving their skills. They read books on the subject, train consistently, and are top-notch shooters. They are gunfighters. The 98% score puts Richard Jewell in the 3%.

My experience is similar to the retired police officer/firearms instructor, colored by the predominance of Border Patrol officers while teaching

Richard Jewell was a very good shot.

His interest in, and skill with firearms, were one of the reasons the FBI and the Media targeted him.

Very good movie with parallels to the attempted railroading of our President.

“Gun person” = Good candidate for being vilified, harassed, put into jail, then we look virtuous by doing it.

Our media allies will HELP us at every juncture.

Saw the movie the afternoon of New Years Eve. Go to the theater and see it, support Clint and this movie, FReepers.

Richard Jewell got messed over by the media and the government. Sort of like what has been happening to Trump for the last 3 years.

Really great movie. Clint’s movies are on a level so far above everyone else’s that, he could be listed for an Academy Award every year, but of course the Rob Reiner’s out there won’t allow it.

I highly recommend this movie to everyone, esp to those people who have stopped going to the movies. This one really holds your attention and well worth the price of admission esp with the senior discount.

Don’t listen to the critics on this movie, it’s one of the best you’ll see.

On more comment about the movie. This movie depicts the real FBI. Don’t give me this BS that the FBI is made up of great men and women on the whole.

IMO, you have Christopher Wrays, Jim Comey’s, Strok and Page through out the FBI at every single level.

The movie clearly shows this.

I have no respect for them.

I’m not going to spoil the ending, but this FBI agent, gives one parting shot to Jewell’s lawyer at the end of the movie that has stuck with me.

The motto of the FBI is simply, you are guilty until proven innocent....Plain and simple my friends.

I saw the movie two days ago. Excellent movie and highly recommended. I got very watery eyed toward the end of the movie when his mom defended him in front of the media.

This is a story that needs to be told. My date had no idea the media could be this dishonest. She was surprised when I explained the media is much more corrupt now than in 1996. Using the Russia Russia Russia hoax, I provided concrete examples of their deceptive, agenda-driven nature. They are pure evil.

The entertainment community has made every effort to spike this movie. More than a few critics have panned it when they know it is a fine piece of filmmaking. The cause is more important than any sliver of integrity these whores have.

That sounds similar to military shooters. Many just go to the ranges to shoot and have fun shooting. Many go to qualify as high as they can. The last go to qualify by shooting a perfect score and each time expect to do so.

My last range that I fired before retirement, I hit a perfect score on the qualification range. My commander happened to make note of that and the final year and a half that I was on AD, I was tapped to run our qualification ranges. We normally had to do that four or five times a year, to get everyone qualified. Some missed who were on leave, in hospital, failed to qualify the last time, new people coming in, etc. So, I had to miss an entire week, boo hoo!!!, and go out and enjoy the sunshine and run the range. Had to run through the zero range, then run them through the qualifications. If you failed, you could go back through again after everyone had a chance to shoot.

I enjoyed the ranges. So, it was fun be able to run them and be in charge. If Jewel was this good of a shooter, then he was a disciplined and well drilled shooter. Good for him. I took my shooting seriously. Now, all of we ex-military and good civilian shooters are armed and watch over our Church during services, just as that good pistol shooter did out in Texas to take down that scum who went after, what he though, were unarmed old women and men, and a bunch of children. He found out differently. Let that be a warning to other copy cats. We are not going to sit in the pews and let you kill us. We are armed and will shoot back.

As one of our deacons said, "the Lord said to turn the other cheek. He didn't say we had to turn it twice." So, when they shot Believers the first time, that was the first time. The next times, we shoot back!!

That is really the most remarkable thing about the events of the last few years. The half of the country that once respected them now hates their guts.

I think the past 8 years, did more to sour the CIA and FBI than at any other time in its history.

It starts at the top, and I fully expect Clapper and Brennan to sing like song birds, because they strike me as cowards, without one ounce of creative thought.

They were put in those positions, because they were “yes” men.

Wray, is different. He’s a sneaky bast*rd. He despises Trump, and the people who voted for him. He’s an elite Asshat. I have no idea why Trump appointed the guy, and I have the feeling, that once Trump is re-elected, he’s going to clean house, and hopefully Wray find himself compelled to quit.

“Richard Jewell” is a very good movie that deserves to be supported by Americans who care about the rule of law.

That TV show was superb 1960s propaganda.

The FBI was born with a lie (the supposed “crime wave” of the 1930s), and has always been a lawless, political operation.

I’m sure there are excellent, dedicated FBI agents. But I don’t think too many of them have ever been in charge of anything.

Imo, they targeted him because he was an easy mark......
......and because he was overweight, eager to please and wouldn’t fight back....
...they almost nailed him to the ground!

He is still tainted as ‘ the Olympic bomber’.....
...met someone yesterday who had no idea Eric Rudolph sits in SuperMax for doing the crime....still thought Jewell did it!
