David Petraeus: Eliminating Qasem Suleimani More Significant than Killing Bin Laden or Al-Baghdadi
Breitbart ^ | 1/5/2020 | charlie Spierling

Former General David Petraeus described President Donald Trump’s decision to eliminate Iranian General Qasem Suleimani in Baghdad as the most significant action against terrorism in the Middle East.

“It is impossible to overstate the importance of this particular action. It is more significant than the killing of Osama bin Laden or even the death of [Islamic State leader Abu Bakr] al-Baghdadi,” he said in an interview with Foreign Policy magazine.

Petraeus said President Trump had effectively reestablished the idea any Iranian attack against American targets would be met with considerable force.

“This is the most formidable adversary that we have faced for decades,” he said, noting that Suleimani had previously enjoyed considerable power and freedom to act boldly in the region. “This is a very significant effort to reestablish deterrence, which obviously had not been shored up by the relatively insignificant responses up until now.”

Petraeus said Iran would clearly think carefully before attacking an American target, noting that they had recently become emboldened in the region.

Eliminating Iranian General Qasem Suleimani is forward thinking, not revisiting the near past.

Trump thoroughly understands the Iranian mentality.

Suelimani’s successor should be one of Trump’s 52 targets.

Renowned classicist, military historian, and conservative lecturer extraordinaire Victor Davis Hanson chose Petraus as one of five subject leaders in his book The Savior Generals: How Five Great Commanders Saved Wars That Were Lost - From Ancient Greece to Iraq

I'm sure he is. Remember the Hussein-era Iraqi deck of cards?

In May of this year The Guardian had an article about Suleimani‘s very public plan to wage proxy wars against the West.

Makes you wonder WTH these pearl clutches worrying about Suleimani‘s death escalating into a war have been.

We are already there.

Petreaus is a worthless POS. Sulimani made a sport out of murdering Pretreaus’s OWN soldiers by the hundreds. Thousands were sent home with brain injuries, missing limbs, burned and maimed for life.

That worthless POS never lifted a finger against Sulimani, neither did Bush the moron and Big ears Obama.

Thank god for Trump. You kill one single American, and he blasts you with a hellfire screaming in at mach-1.

If he has any sense, the North Korean dictator is rethinking his past words and asking if he said anything that could have offended the U.S. president.

Petreaus, was more concerned about some stupid Florida Preacher burning Korans than killing the enemy.

Hansen is wrong about Petreaus. He was one of the most worthless Generals America ever produced. His big plan was to dump truckloads of money on the shia militias until they slowed their attacks.

Utterly worthless.

He was another COIN general. And he took it literally, delivering lots of “coin” to the enemy.

This guy has a much better take on Petraeus than VDH did.

Power and the resolve to use it are the only things that are respected in that region of the world. Anything else is perceived as weakness.
