The proper meaning of “disproportionate” is “excessive”. The Left defines “disproportionate” as what normal people would call “effective”. They apply it to a country that they hate, when it’s winning.

Trump, the counterpuncher, has often said if you hit him he will hit you back five times as hard, which of course he does.

Now he has become our nation’s counterpuncher, applying the same strategy to dealing with our enemies.

So “disproportionate retaliation” is definitely a good name for it.

Exactly - ‘disproportionate’ would consist of reducing an entire city to rubble in order to eliminate one person. We no longer have much of a problem finding that person and we even are polite enough to gather up the pieces and send them back. Quite gracious, actually.
