Actor Joaquin Phoenix asked celebrities to stop taking private jet trips as a way to fight climate change.
“It’s really nice that so many people have come up and sent their well wishes to Australia but we have to do more than that. It’s such a beautiful gesture. I’ve not always been a virtuous man. I'm learning so much," Phoenix said when accepting the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama on Sunday evening for his role in JOKER.
“It’s great to vote but sometimes we have to take that responsibility on ourselves and make changes and sacrifices in our own lives and I hope that we can do that,” he told the audience. “We don’t have to take private jets to Palm Springs for the awards, sometimes, or back, please. And I’ll try to do better and I hope you will too.”
Phoenix started off his acceptance speech by thanking "the Hollywood Foreign Press for recognizing and acknowledging the link between animal, agriculture, and climate change."
“It’s a very bold move, making tonight plant-based, and it really sends a powerful message," Phoenix said.

At least he - unlike the typical Hollywood Hypocrites - told them to make some real sacrifices instead of demanding ordinary Americans make sacrifices while he and other celebrities lived just as high on the hog as possible.
Based on the he impression I got from his rambling and stumbling speech, I assume he flew into LA on Cocaine and alcohol.
These folks can do and say whatever they want. It’s none of my business. Just as I am none of theirs.

I don’t watch those stupid awards shows, but it is worth checking out the Gervais monologue in which he skewers the self-important a**holes in the audience and the Phoenix acceptance speech in which the “clean and sober” Phoenix is obviously polluted out of his brain.
So, this fellow is taking public transit to Palm Springs....

Interestingly, if he travels between New York City and Los Angeles a lot, there are plenty of premium seating on these transcon scheculed flights, often catered for the entertainment industry. A particularly popular one is JetBlue’s Mint service with its excellent seats and not ridiculous pricing.
New hollywood star would ever fly commercial.
Why not just e-mail their little awards to them? Then they can thank their agents and f-off in the comfort of their own home.
