Senate Democrats running for their party's nomination for president are facing a lengthy down time from their campaigns.
Others, including Joe Biden and Pete Buttigieg, will be on the trail shaking hands every day.
It's because House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, after three weeks of trying to extract favorable terms, said she will take steps next week to send impeachment articles to the Senate.
The trial is expected to result in an acquittal for the president since the GOP holds the majority and impeachment requires a supermajority vote of two-thirds.

The Senate could hold off voting on impeachment until all the leftist senators are in the Senate chamber by passing a new rule.
Maybe the Senate GOP can filibuster the impeachment trial to keep Bernie, Booker etc off the campaign trail longer?
If the Democrat Senators don’t show up for ANY of the many coming votes on rules and procedures, the quorum will be reduced, and Cocaine Mitch can pass whatever he wants, regardless of how Collins, MurCow or the Mormons feel about it.

Once the Senate gets it, (if indeed they do), they have the say how things are going to move. regardless of what Pelosi says about the ‘process’ of a fair trial or not, (in order to keep herself and their the crooks from being found out)...the ball is out of her hands then.

The Dems have half the country convinced that President Trump will be annihilated if only Bolten testifies. I’ve wished Bolten would make a declarative public statement for weeks now. I can’t believe he is bitter enough to sink the president or sell his soul to peddle an upcoming book.
All those candidate Senators should rightfully recuse themselves from impeachment proceedings as they stand to potentially directly benefit from the outcome, right? Right?
Likely the Dems have something Bolton knows they want to exploit and why they want him to testify.
I rather like the idea nobody in the press actually knows what he’d say. Bsides this may never get to a trial anyway.

But they know President Trump is not guilty of anything legitimately impeachable, just like they knew he never "colluded" with the Russians. It's all a charade. I just wish Bolten would step up and make it clear that his testimony is not going to fix President Trump's little red wagon.
