The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) has stunned court-watchers by selecting David Kris -- a former Obama administration lawyer who has appeared on "The Rachel Maddow Show" and written extensively in support of the FBI's surveillance practices on the left-wing blog Lawfare -- to oversee the FBI's implementation of reforms in the wake of a damning Department of Justice Inspector general report last year.
The development on Friday, first reported by independent journalist Mike Cernovich, has roiled Republicans who have demanded accountability at the FBI. House Intelligence Commitee ranking member Devin Nunes, R-Calif., told The Daily Caller that Kris' appointment was "shocking" and "inexplicable."
"Its hard to imagine a worse person the FISC could have chosen outside [James] Comey, [Andy] McCabe, or [Adam] Schiff, Nunes said. Speaking to Fox News contributor Sara Carter, Nunes added: Its a ridiculous choice. The FBI lied to the FISC, and to help make sure that doesnt happen again, the FISC chose an FBI apologist who denied and defended those lies. The FISC is setting its own credibility on fire.
On Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures," Nunes reminded anchor Maria Bartiromo that Kris had panned the now-vindicated 2018 memo produced by Nunes' panel, which asserted a series of surveillance abuses by the FBI against former Trump aide Carter Page. DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz later substantiated Nunes' claims, noting that the FBI had made numerous materially false representations to the FISC.
"Of all the people in the swamp ... this is the guy that you come up with?" Nunes asked. "The guy that was accusing me of federal crimes? The guy that was defending the dirty cops at the FBI? ... The court must be trying to abolish itself. There is long-term damage."

Exactly. WE are the victims, but all Trump seems to do is complain that he is the victim when he is the guy with all the power.
FISA authorization sunsets in a few short months so the entire FISA court turns back into a pumpkin at the stroke of midnight unless Congress votes reauthorization and the President does not veto.
Thinking the way Trump has been treated at the Ball, he ain't exactly gonna be out searching with a glass slipper for Cinderella when it comes to the FISA court.
Betting dollars to doughnuts that these clowns are gone because Trump declines reauthorization and just disbands the whole FISA court because of egregious and blatant abuse and criminal corruption
Dishonorable and corrupt FBI/DOJ federal “law enforcement” apparatus - bump for later.....
Who actually selected this guy?
I keep reading that the FISC selected him but courts don’t make selections, people do. And isn’t the FISC under Chief Justice Roberts’ authority? Does he have a role in the selection?
And the media quotes him like he’s Jesus, I mean Muhammed.
...a few hours before the Benghazi attack, Alhassani met in the White House with Samir Mayekar
Samir Mayekar eventually moved on to https://www.chicagobusiness.com/government/citys-economic-development-czar-takes-tricky-balancing-act and Mehdi K. Alhassani to Palantir https://twitter.com/mehdi3344?lang=en
The fisa court is corrupt and/or incompetent. Those involved with it have never read the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Apparently, they have great disdain for Free Citizens...typical of many “public servents” (aka: government “workers”). The court should be abolished immediately.
HRC is STILL running DOJ.
In 1997 she swiped 900 FBI files on everybody in DC.She updated those from 2009-2013.
Everybodys dirt in DC collectively outweighs ALL her and Bills baggage
As usual, they hire a fox to guard the henhouse.
Can’t fire Roberts who appointed Boasberg, who appointed Kris,he can fire Wray, but he wont
“Rat activist”
Rat B_stard. There, fixed it.
And we know in our hearts incompetence has nothing to do with it.

Time to deundable FISA court. You can legally kill it by financially starving it.
