Sweden: Around 90 Per Cent of 2015 Migrants with Residency Status Are Unemployed
Breitbart ^ | October 5, 2019 | Chris Tomlinson

Just under 90 per cent of the asylum seekers who came to Sweden at the height of the migrant crisis and have gained permanent residency are unemployed.

Of the 40,019 migrants with permanent residency status who are eligible to work, only 4,574 of them support themselves independently through working, according to Statistics Sweden’s integration database for health insurance and labour market studies (LISA).

A further 9,970 migrants receive money to study in Sweden, while another 18,405 are on municipal welfare programmes. Eight of the ten municipalities which took in the most migrants per population in 2015 also have unemployment rates far above the national average, Aftonbladet reports.

Professor and economist Per Lundborg said the solution to the problem is to create more jobs that do not require large amounts of training or education.

“Sweden is one of the most high-tech countries in the world, where we streamline simpler jobs. Therefore, the knowledge gap is too large for many of the refugee immigrants who come here,” Lundborg noted.

“Sweden is a high-cost country. It is expensive to live here. If you then have a group that does not meet their living expenses through the work they do, they must still go to the society for help with their livelihood,” he added.

It’s not like Sweden will be able to get rid of them. They will be a lodestone around their neck forever.

And untold generations of unemployables for decades to come. Lots of work for pencil pushers in law enforcement & justice departments though.

Part of this story revolves around the urban areas of Stockholm (7-percent unemployment rate in general) and Malmo (hovering between 50 and 60 percent unemployment)...which are the magnets for all migrant and immigrant individuals.

Even after they arrive and get into the system....virtually all of them have no usable crafts or skills, and it could take four to six years to complete the language and craft courses. Then you contend with no growth industries existing.

Sounds like a perfect solution (extreme sarcasm)

we’re not far behind- nearly 70% of illegals and legal immigrants are on welfare- some to the tune of $45,000 per year

The lie that immigrants want to come here to work is just that, a lie- for the most part (note about 1/4 of LEGAL immigrants do come here to work and make a better life)

We spend nearly $1 TRILLION dollars PER YEAR on illegals when all the costs and estimated incidental costs are added together- (and liberals scream about a 1 time fee of $25 Billion for the wall?)

The problem is NOT with the migrants. The problem is with the survey itself. If the survey would just recognize “plotting the destruction of Europe” as a legitimate job, migrant employment would approach 100%.

90% huh? That better than I thought. I thought it would be about 99% unemployed. 👎

I’m shocked... 90% of immigrants in Sweden don’t work? I thought they work at making trouble for Swedes!

Gotta wonder what portion of that 90% is working back in their home country, while collecting Swedish bennies.

Unexpected. Who would have guessed that this would not work out? [Cut and paste from the discussion on a similar problem in Switzerland.]

We’re doing the same thing; there was a widely-circulated photo of a young Mexican woman with children who was detained by the border patrol (back when they were trying to get caught, taken in, and processed); didn’t speak any English. Do you really think she was coming in to work?
