In my neck of the woods, whenever a minority is forced out of a governmental position (school principal, police captain, etc.), there is usually a lawsuit claiming discrimination.
The scammer sues for big bucks, then settles for “an undisclosed sum”. Think of this as a severance pay of sorts.
Need not be mutually exclusive.
