Presidential candidate Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., likened President Trump to the infamous ringleader of the 1950's 'Red Scare,' Joseph McCarthy, in an answer during Tuesday's Democratic debate.
After being asked whether or not she was concerned Trump would be "emboldened" by a Senate acquittal now that House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is set to transmit the articles of impeachment to the upper chamber, Klobuchar replied that she was not, saying members of Congress needed to do their constitutional duty and check the executive.
"I think the best way to think about this trial and what we're facing in this election is a story of a man from Primghar, Iowa," she said, giving a shout-out to the debate's host state, which also will hold the first-in-the-nation caucuses on Feb. 3. "He came from humble beginnings, the son of immigrants. He became the Army Counsel, and he was the one who went to the Joseph McCarthy hearings and ... said, 'Have you no sense of decency, sir?' Have you no sense of decency?"

The Democrat Party has no sense of decency. At least Joseph McCarthy knew who the enemy was.
The writer of this article is a historical ass. Sen. McCarthy was NOT the ringleader of the “red scare” of the 1950’s. In fact, he was a latecomer to the show. He just made more noise than the other smarter congressional investigators.
See M. Stanton Evans book “Blacklisted by History” for a more honest appraisal of McCarthy (who I think was more an egotistical preening ahole than a serious congressional leader in the fight against communism because of the major mistakes he and Roy Cohen made in the way information was handled. McCarthy had a few legitimate targets before him but he missed most of them).
A communist likening Trump to an anti-communist. Fitting
Joseph McCarthy knew more than was reported in the press.
About a decade ago perhaps a little more we were having a lunch time round table at work and McCarthy came up, and after briefly reviewing of any fact that we could remember we surmise that McCarthy had the right message, but he was the wrong messenger.
Once the Press learned of his alcoholism they publicly tore him apart. In Hollywood, they curried and coiffed within their peers groups as they lamented about the great damage McCarthy had caused to not only this country, but specifically for those reds that were targeted “unfairly and without remorse” It was quite the smear, and one that McCarthy would never recover from.
It sort of reminds me of the old “joke” that if Jesus walked on water the press would report that Jesus could not swim.
Russia Russia Russia!!!
The Left has been Red Baiting for 4 years now and got the Commies at the FIB and CYA to spy on Americans with known lies presented to courts and newspapers.
I compare Klobuchar to a rotten banana.
(”...who I think was more an egotistical preening ahole...”
On the other hand, William F Buckley, who was there with him, really appreciated the mam and thought the good he did far outweighed the bad.
McCarthy who was a grandstander, was a late arrival from the original House UnAmerican Activities Committee, which was expanded to the Senate. The original Red hunters were the democrats of that day, who are NOTHING like the ultra leftie commie sympathizers. McCarthy was largely CORRECT. Like her or not Anne Coulter has done (citing many correct sources) the research. There were Commies throughout ALL of FDR and Truman’s admin (some holdovers, Truman was NOT a bright man at all— the artillery corporal vs. the genius General McArthur comes to mind. Truman was, and should have stayed a suit salesman/haberdasher- and was— an a@@hole playacting at being a tough guy. There was a distinct reason he was left out of the Atomic Bomb/Manhatten Project knowledge— because he was so stupid, and a little mouthy man. Please, no one here give the old “scoop Jackson” anti-communist democrat crap. It was all a lie-— to keep power in the dem party, through the commie press. And they still do use them this way.
These moron libs like Klobuchar should get a reply back from Trump-— “so, when you aren’t claiming I’m a National Socialist German Worker’s Party— which was Leftist— you are claiming I’m McCarthy who was ardent Communist? Which is it— get your script/narrative together. I’m a Capitalist, and a Nationalist UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and its citizens.... First. Over ANY other nation, especially communist and dictatorships which the democrat party SUPPORTS!”
That sort of thing. Hit ‘em. Klobuchar should also explain HOW MUCH MONEY SHE GOT KICKED BACK to her from Ukraine, from when she had her photo taken with Amb. Yovanovich (the Russian Born Canadian transplant to the US), John McCain, Lindsay Graham, and then crooked corrupt Ukrainian President Poroshenko— with Ukrainian troops-— hmmmm Klobuchar. What was your “Cut”? Call her on this— just who are you, biotch? Another Biden payoff payee?
It’s looking like McCarthy was right after all, the whole Dem party is full of Communists.
That comparison only further solidifies my support for President Trump, because Joseph McCarthy was National hero IMHO for exposing the Communist infiltration that has, since his time, increased exponentially.
I thought Trump was Hitler. I wish they’d make up their minds.
McCarthy wasn’t a communist, though. So that kind of message would hurt Trump more than her.
But I agree she needs to be taken to task, and shown what an idiot she is.
Neither was McCarthy a Leftist Fascist which Klobuchar IS!
The key to this is Mark Levin’s description of Leftist Fascism- they think they have the power so they go all the way to full corporatist/government/police state/Labor coalition-— ie. FASCISM. Agents in place McCarthy would have identified, and in fact Trumps ODNI did identify-— in place. Alinsky gang government (hitlery’s dream).
