A former top Treasury Department official pleaded guilty Monday to conspiracy for leaking confidential banking reports associated with members of the Trump campaign, following her dramatic arrest in October 2018 as she toted a flash drive full of sensitive documents.

Natalie Edwards, 41, entered the plea in Manhattan federal court, where U.S. District Judge Gregory H. Woods set sentencing for June 9. Although the conspiracy charge carried a potential penalty of up to five years in prison, Edwards signed a plea deal with prosecutors that recommended a potential prison sentence of zero to six months.

As law enforcement swooped in, she was carrying a government-issued USB flash drive containing not only thousands of SARs, but also “highly sensitive material relating to Russia, Iran, and the terrorist group known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant,” prosecutors said.

She got 0-6 months....

The plea deal had better include ratting out some names up the food chain. Otherwise it’s a whitewash. 0 to 6 mo? Hmmm. I’m thinking zero. She was probably talking in her girlish Balsy-Ford voice and vocab.

I thought the FINSYN office was in DC. Why prosecuted in NYC except that is an anti Trump office in which Comey’s daughter works.

Not only does she get a slap on the wrist, she also becomes a hero to the left and will probably get a job at MSNBC or the NYT when her 0-6 months are up.

At first I thought she should get a one way trip to an adobe wall or a long drop while connected to a short rope. But while satisfying to contemplate, that does nothing to reveal those up the responsibility chain. So I agree that a plea deal should be offered but it should be 50 years unless good info AND convictions are realized from her. Then drop the sentence to 20 years.

We all need to keep in mind that unless there are consequences, severe life-changing consequences, there will be no change in behaviour.

More on Dr. Natalie Mayflower Sours Edwards:

I’d say women have surpassed their equality with men in several areas.

No the crime has to occur in that district. Not having followed this or even heard about it I am not sure of particulars.

WHO hires these people? Is there ANY vetting involved with that kind of responsibility they will assume on their jobs?

When I read this stuff, I always think of the way I had to practically jump through my own rectum to qualify for MY dinky little job. And for SURE, I make nothing like what this idiot was being paid.

I wouldn't even steal a pencil and here SHE is pulling a stunt like THIS. It's the tip of the iceberg.

They see all these ba*&ards in the media who get 24/7 attention and make their careers out of leaking sensitive information and otherwise abusing their position... so, they think THEY can too. It's the new model Liberals aspire to. How messed up is that?

I would assume that the Federal Office in NY has the most experience with FINSYN prosecutions due to the financial markets being there. It’s possibly the same office that Giuliani ran in the 80’s.

She lied to agents in VA but was not charged with it. Guess she is not related to Flynn. O to six months eh? She should be facing electrocution.

This foul cesspool is contemptible & should be made aware of her violation of trust through strict federal sentencing.
