How times have changed...in the 1970’s I used to purchase a case of Hercules 65% dynamite at a local hardware store. I had to fill out a form, I think it was a federal form, probably like a firearm purchase permit??? Can’t remember, but the hardware guy would either have us follow him to the magazine, or would bring the case in later in the afternoon. Could buy det cord and blasting caps too.

A buddy and I had a small dredge and were mining on rivers in Calif. I spent 5-years as an underground miner and was very familiar with handling explosives.

Now people get upset if someone discovers a mortar round or three in a vehicle.

A few months after April 19th 1995 (OKC Bombing) I had to make a delivery to the Earl Cabal Federal building in Dallas (Texas y'all).

Below ground loading dock, Kelly Door.

I went to security and told them not to freak, I also had empty, blue barrels on the truck for another customer.

We were there late 70s. Husband was a pearl sub base. We try to go back when we can. Our middle son was born at tripler. It’s changed so much. Hale Koa hotel had armed mp when we went in February. Crime is bad.
