Yes, it’s pretty common, and in some cases more than twice. USS FARRAGUT (DDG 99), is the 5th ship to bear the name of the US Navy’s first Admiral, David Glasgow Farragut.

It is a significant break from tradition to name a CVN after an Enlisted man.
