On January 17, 2020, President Donald Trump pointed to the gun control situation in Virginia, noting that it proves once more the Democrats “will take your guns” if voted into office.
He made this point amid the all-out war on guns by Gov. Ralph Northam (D) and the newly elected Democrat majority in the state legislature.

Yet the Democrats are still pushing an “assault weapons” ban that would only allow AR-15 owners to keep their rifles if they agree to obtain a license from the state police. Democrats are being open about their intention to use the licensing process to form a database listing information of AR-15 owners.

And the thing is that Obama simply played the long-card on gun control. The way he (wisely) saw it, was to not infuriate gun owners, until he had the courts locked down. He nearly got there, but thanks to McConnell*, he didn’t get Garland on the Supreme Court. Then, just one term of Hillary, and ALL federal courts would have been LOCKED-DOWN for the Democrats. At that point, you let the Blue states start the REAL PUSH to end gun ownership, by simply seizing the weapons of gun owners (and sorry patriots, there won’t be a civil war over it...get real). And then, state by state, you have a good part of the country disarmed, and at that point, even Republicans in those (disarmed) states will support gun control (simply because there are very few pro-gun voters)...and then the feds can finish the job on the red states.
Hillary was within 100,000 votes of accomplishing just that (in fact, maybe even faster), in large part because so many conservatives and gun owners so ‘no difference’ between her and Trump...and either continued to vote Democrat, or didn’t vote at all in 2016.
The question I have for the Trump Whiners here, is:
Do we need to live out the above scenario for your guys to realize that there IS a difference between the parties, a HUGE DIFFERENCE?
And a related question: What’s your plan for recovery of the Second Amendment, once the above scenario is played out?

What he’s doing is appointing judges who will uphold the constitution and reminding people that yes, the Democrats absolutely DO want to trample on your 2nd amendment rights. Vote accordingly.
Let Northram stand alone with egg on his face trying to explain why the violent rally he was talking about never materialized
Turn the tables on him. Don't give him the "ammunition" (pun intended) he needs to further his gun-grab agenda.
Show the media and the rest of the country that he is crying wolf by calling for emergency measures and banning guns on the capitol grounds. Make him look like he's the paranoid, wild-eyed fool he is.
Sometimes changing tactics is the best way to fight your enemy.

SECOND REASON: You simply can’t trust the ‘pro-gun’ Democrat. Look at Manchin, as pro-gun as any Democrat today - at least when he campaigned in W. Virginia. What did he do right after getting into federal office: Work on gun control measures. When the ‘tough votes’ come, even Democrats who promise to be nice to us (and even can support it with their record in lower office, such as Manchin) will go with their leadership - that’s why the Trump impeachment vote in the House wasn’t even close.
THIRD REASON: If US Senate, the anti-gun Republican almost certainly will vote for conservative federal judges. How do I know that - go look at the voting records of today’s RINOs on judges, they support Trump 98% of the time, and that includes judges who disagree with them on many important issues (including prayer, abortion, and gun control).
All the time on the internet I run across liberals who swear up and down that theyre not coming for our guns. They just want common sense gun laws.
When a liberal tells you that hes not coming for your guns, he’s coming for your guns.
The right needs to stop whaa-whaaing about the commies tryng to take the guns.
Everybody KNOWS the democ*nts are after the guns.
Do something. Make them react and spend their time stopping our efforts.
I know that the biggest part of my support for the GOP in 2016 was DJT's promise for reciprocity and judges.
So far nothing on reciprocity and still uncertain results on the judge front.
I'm still watching/waiting.

So did our farming founding fathers and the 3% patriots.
They did not want a revolution and even told the King that.
But when the hammer fell they knew that some blood had to be shed to gain freedom from oppression and the ruling class.
It is NO different today.
And that is my question, what can he do about it?
IF nothing then he needs to put his efforts into something that will benefit the American people and let us handle Virginia. Stay the hell out of it and reign in the military.
We live in a federal system where certain rights are reserved to the states. These laws will be taken into the courts. That is why it is so important to have a president who will appoint conservative federal judges, from bottom to the top.
Trump is using his “bully pulpit” to shine the light on this problem in VA. He is right. The first step is reelecting Trump. He only lost by 112,000 votes in 2016 in VA. I believe that this ignites a storm and he will win VA. Next, the people of VA need to take back the legislature and get rid of “Coonman.” Then they can get rid of the laws that violate the 2nd amendment. Of course, all bets are off if they try going from door to door confiscating guns.

I disagree in part.
I think there is a tight group of libs who DO want total confiscation of firearms in the hands of private citizens, however they can accomplish that task. Of course, they rarely let their mask of "public safety" fall off - they are out there, dancing on corpses after every church shooting to push for repealing 2A to "save lives."
There is a much larger group of libs and centrists (and Elmer Fudd RINOs) who think guns aren't that scary and may have shot a .22 at camp and maybe have an uncle who hunts and the venison is tasty. They are, however, horrified when they see the shootings and the libs on the MSM evening news with crocodile tears, DEMANDING gun control before one more child or grandparent is killed because of some "outdated" Conatitutional relic - "the Founding Fathers would NEVER have wanted Assualt Weapons in the public."
This larger group then goes home, reads their FB and Instagram feed of similarly scared libs and centrists all repeating the same thing. The. They are hooked - "if this happens again then I am morally complicit in the deaths."
They then become supporters of gun control out of guilt, and have no idea that they have in fact agreed to be Human Shields for confiscation.
Then the administration can file a friend of the court brief on behalf of the plaintiffs and that is all he can do.
Running it through the courts will probably take a decade

One out of four votes originate in Northern Virginia and there is not enough rural votes to make up the difference. Tidewater now votes blue since, at best now, Virginia Beach is just 50/50 and Richmond is deep blue along with its suburbs.
There are a total of 35 state legislative seats in Northern Virginia - 25 House and 10 State Senate seats and every single one of them is a democrat - a 35 to zero democrat sweep - so no - Virginia will be voting blue.

1984, they made a grab for the rifles, and missed.
If they get a ban on the rifles rest assured they grab for the handguns again.
As far as taking back the state legislature, that won't happen either. In the November elections, dems flipped both houses to their side. This means that a democrat state house and senate and a democrat governor get to redraw every state legislative and congressional district lines, which means they will be gerrymandered to their benefit.
It will be a long time, if ever, before the republicans flip the chambers back.
Elections have consequences. While the libs came out in November in a record vote for state elections (they were motivated by their hatred of Trump since voting dem is the only thing they can do), the gun owners stayed home cleaning their guns. Now they are all scared.
