FBI: Saudi officials help fugitives flee US
Middle East Monitor ^ | Jan, 18, 2020

United States officials believe Saudi Arabia’s government “almost certainly” helps its citizens escape justice by fleeing the country once they are accused of serious offenses, The Oregonian newspaper reported Friday, Anadolu Agency reports.

It said it obtained a newly declassified document from the FBI that said Riyadh’s assistance to suspects was “undermining the US judicial process.”

(excerpt_

The newspaper described an FBI intelligence bulletin in August that was released Friday, that said the US must take action to stop Riyadh from helping Saudi wrongdoers escape overseas.

The heavily-redacted document said Riyadh helps citizens escape to avoid embarrassment, but does not indicate what assistance it gives nor the number of fugitives who have fled.

An investigation by The Oregonian last year uncovered several instances of Saudis studying at US colleges who faced manslaughter, rape and other serious charges who then vanished — presumably with help from Riyadh.

In some cases, suspects managed to exit the US even after surrendering their passports to authorities.

Suddenly the FBI and other agencies are ALL LAW AND ORDER.

That’s what an investigation will do.

Believing 99% are good guys is getting harder and harder.

This must be wrong. GW said the Sauds were our friends and Iraq was the big prize.

The bushes have been in bed so much with the sauds I’m surprised they haven’t had children by them.

I’m no Iranian fan, but I view them as potentially more pro USA than the back stabbing untrustworthy 9-11 AQ perp subsidizing Saudis. Many GIs have said the Saudi and Saddam backed Sunnis in Iraq were also more of an IED threat through out than the Iraqi Shiites, contrary to what the media has recently tried to claim.

Not surprising. I’ve heard of many military members being whisked out of a foreign country to avoid prosecution.

There is nothing in the middle east that we need. Nothing.

It is a wasteland, filled with Islamic thuggery.

"But the saudis are our allies in the region, blah, blah, blah..."

The filthy sand maggots should have been nuked out of existence on 9/12.

I think some hide that they come into this country having more than one passport. They surrender the Saudi one and leave on another passport. Others are supplied a new passport by the Saudi gov’t.

Do we not have an extradition treaty with Saudi? I would think we would, for how 'friendly' we are. And wouldn't those requests be almost as embarrassing?
