"YES!"
Almost, lagging. Takes a long time to respond. BUT much better than earlier. What happened? DDOS?
[voice of RosannaDanna] I thought i was gonna die.
Compared to other websites which seem rarely to have outages, FR is like one of the old pre-solid state TVs, when periodically you had to take out all the tubes, trudge to the drugstore, and plug them in sequentially on the tester to find and replace the culprit. Having done so, how one appreciated the restored functionality!
Yay!
Relatedly- I found a new website that helped me find out it wasn’t just my computer having difficulty pulling up FR this morning. I typed, “Is Freerepublic down right now?” into the search bar and found-
isitdownrightnow.com
-which let me know that yes, FR was really down.
I got rid of FB last year, so this was a good way to figure out what was happening. Passing along for future use.
I’ve been getting some weird responses to clicks on FR pages.
It may be an approaching problem.
Thank you.

I checked with this link this morning, when FR was down.
Glad it’s back now.
What happened to 4? ;-)
Server seems to be moving like molasses in January.

Did all those tens of thousands of people at the 2A rally overload the system at once? Good to see FR back up... suspected sabotage.
Bingo! It was dead, Jim.
WooHoo! I was getting tired of working.
An attack? A DOS by some left weenie to shut us up for the virginia rallies and the Trump impeachment circus?
It’s still pretty wonky.
it’s working fine now.
did the Hampster die?
Conspiracy of Iranian-Ukranian-Russian-VirgianiaDemocrat hackers?
I was thinking for a while that the “vast right-wing conspiracy” may be a reality.
FR is working fine & fast for me now.
Granted that I did close all windows, then open to aboutblank, clear all browsing history, and then come back here. But I do those 1st 3 steps a lot, after a purchase or transmitting any sensitive personal / business info., which I was doing earlier today. (Tax stuff.)
Thanks to you and esp. Jim, I suspect, for getting ‘er back up!
