Not to worry... everything from a 50 cal to a 22 cal will be categorized as 50 cal since they are too stupid but it achieves their goal anyway.

The bullets are big and scary looking. “Hoplophobic”; Priceless. Next, assault tractors.

Hoplophobia is a political neologism, coined by retired American military officer Jeff Cooper, to describe an "irrational aversion to weapons." It is also listed as a phobia in some medical dictionaries as a "fear of firearms", or the "fear of armed citizens."

They are also proposing to make a license requirement to buy ammunition...including shotgun shells.

In other words, making owning and using a firearm legally nearly impossible.

If Heller tells us anything, it is that firearms cannot be
categorically prohibited just because they are dangerous.

District of Columbia v. Heller

Some have made the argument, bordering on the frivolous, that only those arms in existence in the 18th century are protected by the Second Amendment.

We do not interpret constitutional rights that way.

Just as the First Amendment protects modern forms of communications, and the Fourth Amendment applies to modern forms of search, the Second Amendment extends, prima facie, to all instruments that constitute bearable arms, even those that were not in existence at the time of the founding.
