That’s because everything they ask for is just a bluff. They don’t really want to hear more evidence, they ask for things they think the defense won’t concede in order to create the illusion that the President s hiding something. Then if the White House calls their bluff, they backpedal.
Case in point, they said they had a “whistleblower” but when the White House said ok let’s hear what this whistleblower has to say, they suddenly said never mind. Same with subpoenas - as soon as the White House agreed to cooperate, they withdrew their requests.
For the Democrats, these demands are not about actually wanting to heari new evidence, they are designed to make the White House look like it’s hiding something.
