The “right” to firearms are merely a gross misinterpretation of the 2nd Amendment by NRA-appointed Justices that overturned centuries of the correct reading: the states have the right to form National Guards.

OH! That is right, of course.

It wasn't until 2008 that the 2nd Amendment became the "individual's" right to bear arms.

Silly me.

...the next step, is to ban landlords selling their properties unless it’s to the government for pennies on the dollar.

UNLESS you're friends with democrats... then YOU can sell YOUR property. And being an 'in' you can buy the properties of desperate landlords for dimes on the dollar... Soon you're looking for 'friends' like Hunter Biden. This type of insanity is the seed...

Also, the Bill of Rights were ALL about enshrining the rights of the government into law.

That is why it has "free state" before "the people".

If the state wasn't more important than the people than it wouldn't be first now then would it?

In Seattle, a landlord must now process applications in the same order they are received.

The first applicant who is eligible gets the apartment.

You chose the best applicant further down the list?

Prepare for a lawsuit!

This is exactly how you create s**t neighborhoods. Those with brain and money just invest in real estate elsewhere.

Someone forgot to tell the Oakland skells that the internet has been invented.

Looks like rent is going to be going up... and the number of people willing to rent will be going waaaaay down.

The smaller players will not advertise vacancies and rely on sound references.

Here comes anarchy.

IMO, that's the goal.

Create the anarchy, and then come in with the solution and people will be so desperate for order and safety, that they'll give up their freedoms to the very anarchists who created the anarchy in the first place.

This 10 minute video explains it pretty well.

I still think there is a case to made that laws like this constitute a partial TAKING of the owner’s property (due to its devaluation when you have to let felons and deadbeats occupy units) and thus the owners should be COMPENSATED accordingly.

If enough conservatives can HOLD THEIR NOSES and once more vote for their Trump-hating Republican Senator this year, and (of course) if Trump wins, then we’ll definitely have at least 6 conservatives on the Supreme Court (5 being reliable), and there’s a good chance that a 5th Amendment Constitutional challenge could be successful.

Of course if Dems are allowed to take the Senate, then no more conservative judges/justices will be confirmed, NOT A SINGLE ONE, even if Trump is re-elected.

Oh well catch me if you can.. I mean what is to stop someone from running one anyway. Time for just ignoring their laws.

I wonder about apartment complexes. Everyone I’ve known has run them. Some are executive. So now anyone can move in and wait a year or two, not paying rent, to be evicted. Sounds swell.

Following a unanimous vote by the city council Tuesday night, Oakland has now become the first city in California to ban criminal background checks on potential renters.

And guess how landlords will now hedge that risk?

I have generally taken the view that anyone who was convicted of a crime in a one time event, provided that the crime was not violent and did not involve sexual predation, and that they have not re-offended and ten years have elapsed since they completed all terms of their sentence, should be eligible to have their criminal record sealed and be exempt from background checks with some obvious and common sense exceptions. If your applying to be a cop, a pharmacist or a school employee then we need to see your whole record. But if you made a non-violent mistake, paid your debt to society and have stayed out of trouble for ten years that should be good enough for most jobs and renting an apartment. I also favor restoring civil rights under those conditions. Yes, that means the right to vote and the right to own a gun.

Squatters in Oakland breaking and entering vacant homes to claim as their own, and the libs smile and support that.

Same thing in San Fran.

Group of black women with kids-—no sign of any men around—squatted in a vacant building -—since NOVEMBER of 2018.

However, every time this is brought up-—the ‘reporters’ only refer to ‘since November’...never mentioning 2018.

It took this long for the investor who owns the home to get the court to let him evict these trespassers.

In the well covered debates, the leader of this group of black women kept saying “HOUSING IS A RIGHT!!!”

Sure it is honey-—just like it is a “right’ for you to have a passle of kids without a husband & Section 8 & welfare & free school food & food stamps are a “RIGHT”.

This will all backfire someday. Sure hope it is soon.

In Chicago, that’s the one exemption to the law they passed against background checks. We can exclude sex offenders at least.”””

I am confused...

IF you cannot do background checks-—how do you find out the applicant is a sex offender???

You have to rely on THEM telling you about their status??

Sounds like a Catch-22 tome.

AND-—
THEN-—the revenue from property taxes plummets.....

Am I the only one who sees this???
