At this point we can hope that the WHO is wrong about the mortality rate of 4%. That’s Black Swan territory there.
Mechanical ventilation hopefully will help lower the mortality rate if it hits the west. However if the virus is causing organ failure or sepsis than nothing can really prevent a high mortality rate.
China is 41 dead for 1400 cases (officially) which works out to .03% not 4.0%
