How much has he spent so far for his solid 0% ?

I think he's polling at 10% nationally. Since he's not on the ballot in Iowa or Hew Hampshire, they aren't reporting on him for those early races. So yes, he's spent a lot of money, but he went from 0 to 10% in about two months (he announced his candidacy on 11/24/19).

Is this just an example of the polling outfits looking to finally poll accurately before the big contests? I seem to recall nothing but polls saying Biden all the way.

There is a difference between national polling, and polling for a specific state (Iowa, NH, etc.). You were reading the national polls about Biden. He still leads nationally, but the first two venues, he trails and Bernie is first. Look for super Tuesday coming March 3rd when Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, and Virginia will hold their presidential primaries on that date. Remember, Bloomberg will be on those ballots.

The DNC is stuck. The pollsters are still pushing Biden. But... Biden has dementia and a history of monetizing his positions including to China. I can't see him uniting the Democrats. Warren has an ever increasing track record of lying, and it's starting to come out that she trampled little people for big corporations in the past. Sanders funneled campaign funds to his family, but they all did. Sander's is an avowed communist and I don't think most of the left is really ready to openly embrace that. Bloomberg who is now in 4th place having just edged out Mayor Pete, is a NY Billionaire who wants to ban everything. He might actually be the top four candidate with the least negatives, but I don't think the Democrats want a NY billionaire. Might as well go with the Billionaire you know.

I'm hoping for a Democrat mud battle royale with no survivors.
