Weve been abandoned in Wuhan ghost town, say Britons trapped in coronavirus city
behind paywall
Britons trapped in the Chinese city at the heart of the coronavirus outbreak have condemned the UK governments failure to arrange evacuations, saying they feel as if they are trapped in a zombie film.
They described Wuhan becoming a ghost town after it was locked down in an attempt to stop the spread of the virus. Boris Johnson said today that the government was looking at everything we can to give reassurance to those people in Wuhan.
Graham Hubbard, one of a group of three British scientists confined to their hotel rooms, said the Foreign Offices advice has been confusing and came too late for them to plan their own escape.
The United States, France and Spain have already announced the repatriation of their citizens.
Are we approaching the moment where Wuhan has to be nuked to save the rest of us?
