I think Bolton is the source of the leak. I think the book says exactly what is being reported. And I think it's all part of drumming up sales for what, and let's face it, is nothing more than another one of the dozen or so "Trash Trump" books that have come out since the election. Since the chances of his being called as a witness appeared to be diminishing by the day he resorted to this to get the book in front of the media.

Since the manuscript is under review by the NSC, Trump as President has access to the manuscript to access it himself to make sure executive privilege has not been breached. I would assume his office is reviewing it to prep his responses.

What it said was just that Trump would have preferred that they had started the investigation before he released the aid, not that he required it. So the “leak” was actually further twisted by the NYT. Any surprised?
