Romney will buy it, as will any other GOPe Senator looking for an excuse, however weak, to damage this Administration.

I agree, Mittens will grasp at any straw due to his hatred of POTUS.

“Americans won’t buy it,” Meadows said” Unfortunately, RHINO, never Trump Repub senators like Collins, Romney and Murkowski will by it. What a weak group we have as Repub senators.

Perhaps, but they do so at their own electoral risk. I think the voters in the case of this president will have longer memories than the swamp dwellers think they have.

Worst case scenario:

A couple Republicans vote with the Democrats to call Bolton as a witnesses. But remember, their justification for doing so will be in the interest of “fairness” and “full disclosure”. That means they will likely make their vote conditional on the Defense Team also being able to call witnesses, and if that is the condition, there may be some Democrats that vote against calling witnesses. Bottom line, the vote will likely fail.

Also, just because Romney and a few others may vote to hear witnesses, doesn’t mean they would vote to convict when the final vote comes.

I am still confident there will be no witnesses, and that all 53 Republican Senators (and some Democrats) will vote to acquit within the next week or so.

A big win for the President.

Romney will buy it...

Indeed he will.

In his mind's eye, he sees himself as President, riding a great white horse in his special underwear.
