Thanks.

While it certainly doesn't apply in all cases, and it may not even apply here, I think becoming a father can have an incredible impact on people, especially those in the public eye. Sure, there are more than a few examples of absentee fathers, and those who don't even know all their children, particularly in the NBA.

I could be wrong, and the pictures might be all for show, but his love for his daughters seems genuine. And if anything can bring someone to redemption, and an urge to renew their faith, it is the love of a child.

“Anyone know the name of his rape victim?”

Biased laws hide their names.

My wife was reading some stuff from an interview Kobe Bryant did a while back, I guess, in which he described how much the (to be fateful) helicopter freed up time for him to spend with his family. (Apparently he was stuck in traffic one time too many, trying to get to a family event, and decided to look into getting a chopper.) Plus I’m sure he helped many others with rides to their kids’ games and so on.

Granted that such is functioning on a wealth level beyond what I can really imagine, but, Kobe was still nowhere near a Trump, a Bloomberg, etc. I doubt someone who’d spend over half a million on a helicopter, plus all the operating expenses, to spend more time with his family, was doing it just to prove he’d become a good Dad.

A post on a totally different thread, about a NASA probe to fly by the Sun, caused me to go play this:

(Icarus) Borne On Wings of Steel ~~ by “Kansas”

(partial)

Early in the morning sunlight
Soaring on the wings of dawn
Here I’ll live and die with my wings in the sky
And I won’t come down no more

Higher than the birds I’m flying
Crimson skies of ice and fire
Borne on wings of steel, I have so much to feel
And I won’t come down no more

Sail on, sail on
I will rise each day to meet the dawn
So high, so high
I’ve climbed the mountains of the sky

Without my wings
You know, I’d surely die
I found my freedom flying high
I’ve climbed the mountains of the sky
