In a statement, Justice Department spokeswoman Kerri Kupec accused Bolton of “grossly” mischaracterizing the exchange.
“While the Department of Justice has not reviewed Mr. Bolton’s manuscript, the New York Times’ account of this conversation grossly mischaracterizes what Attorney General Barr and Mr. Bolton discussed,” Kupec said.
“There was no discussion of ‘personal favors’ or ‘undue influence’ on investigations, nor did Attorney General Barr say that the President’s conversations with foreign leaders was improper.
“If this is truly what Mr. Bolton has written, then it seems he is attributing to Attorney General Barr his own current views — views with which Attorney General Barr does not agree.”
A spokesman for Bolton could not immediately be reached by The Post for comment.

So it is the NYT that is characterizing the remarks. It remains to be seen if they are taking boring comments by Bolton from his book and spicing them up for the article, kinda like Schiff did when he gave his colorful rendition of the phone call.
Bolton is trying to sell his book.

Did the democrat party contact this fired man and pay him to write a book, timed intentionally to appear during the trial? Did the democrat party tell him he would be rewarded royally for his actions?

This is why we cannot allow witnesses Bolton going to say whatever then they will have call people to prove or dispute and on and on it will go for months.

In 1998 Bolton was one of Kristol’s PNAC crew that was urging Bill Clinton to invade Iraq and oust Saddam Hussein.
They got their wish after Dubya installed a large number of them in his administration.
When I read about this last night I knew it was bullsh!t.
Either Bolton didn’t say it, or he lied.
Bolton also couldn’t be bothered to send out a tweet to explain the matter. I thought John was claiming his account was being held hostage a little awhile ago and all he wanted to do was tweet.
I’ve never condoned this before but it’s high time that John Bolton is ostracized and effectively cancelled.
