The longest-ever drug smuggling tunnel was discovered along the US Southwest border, officials said Wednesday
The sophisticated underground pathway is over three-quarters of a mile long and features a rail system and an elevator, according to US Customs and Border Protection.
The tunnel originated in an industrial area in Tijuana, Mexico, and stretched over 4,000 feet into San Diego, the agency said.

Fill it with poop from SF. That’ll keep the perps out of it.

Please tell me they simply observed the tunnel for a good length of time and plucked either the actual users or their identities to go after bigger fish.
If not, sounds like a hideous waste of a valuable find.

There’ll be a ninth circuit order issued shortly to ensure it stays open until all appeals can be heard.

Even more sadly the state of California got involved in the construction and initial cost estimates skyrocketed from 1 million to 100 billion.

Next thing you know they are going to discover they have an underground rail system, too. A subway next?
The USBP has lots of ground vibration sensors spread out far and wide since the 80’s. Linked via radio. If you drove up to a BP radio tower site they knew and the person in charge of that area would be visiting you in 5 or 10 mins. This was back in the days before cell phones. How can this type activity go un-noticed for all this time with the tech we have now?? Some one must be intentionally “overlooking” things. Think about it.
