In response to potential health risks; and anticipating multiple agency aspects of the U.S. government would need a unified approach; President Trump has assembled a unified task force to coordinate all response efforts across the totality of government.
President Donald J. Trump announced the formation of the Presidents Coronavirus Task Force. Members of the Task Force have been meeting on a daily basis since Monday. At todays meeting, which the President chaired, he charged the Task Force with leading the United States Government response to the novel 2019 coronavirus and with keeping him apprised of developments.

That one is updated about once/day.
It relies on chicom numbers, which are undoubtely way way off.
Trump needs to halt all travel from China, just as has Russia, which closed its border. Concrete action, not just political committee.
I am seeing news reports labeling this as Trumps Katrina because of inaction, which will be confirmed if someone dies.
He should!!
After all, it's HIS fault!
Emotional response without understanding.
First read #80 above.
Second, the US has already dispatched screeners to 20 key US airports.
Third, understand that Chinese with a Visa can go to many airports, including Australia, NZ, Euro regions, and then fly into US. To stop carriers of virus would entail stopping all flights into US period. That’s overkill as there are only 5 cases reported in US and no deaths so far.
Fourth, closing all inbound traffic from China is already on strong watch with screeners dispatched to China. POTUS ordered a team of US scientists and technicians to China to assist.
Now there is a US Task Force convened to deal with the Coronavirus.
POTUS as usual is doing exactly the right thing but his enemies will blast him no matter what.
I read a liberal twitter rant alleging that POTUS himself ordered containers pf the patented coronavirus poured into the water supply.
We are all going to die!
Kiss your kids goodbye ..... uh no ... wait, don’t do that. they might get your virus.
I am not saying it is his Katrina, that is the media. I am saying we should have stopped all travel from China. Yes, convenient excuse to do so as I have said many times before that we should cut off China and send home their half-a-million pies that just returned to resume spying at our universities.
Keep it classy, Chuck Todd.
> “I am saying we should have stopped all travel from China”
Nah, that’s overkill because there are monitors that can detect the virus very well. POTUS has a team in China making sure passengers do not carry the virus and the Chinese government is cooperating because POTUS has them by the gonads with the first phase trade deal, just like he has Mexico now acting as a wall by stopping pass-thrus of illegals into the US.
Now that’s a great idea!
The Todd virus is much more repulsive.

*This is particularly disturbing if it proves to be true, “At least 10% die”..*
“Coronavirus: What it does to the body”
“Fighting the new coronavirus has been a battle against the unknown for doctors.
How does it attack the body? What are the full range of symptoms? Who is more likely to be seriously ill or die? How do you treat it?
Now, an account by medics on the front line of this epidemic, at the Jinyintan Hospital, in Wuhan, is starting to provide answers.
A detailed analysis of the first 99 patients treated there has been published in the Lancet medical journal.
Lung assault
All of the 99 patients taken to the hospital had pneumonia - their lungs were inflamed and the tiny sacs where oxygen moves from the air to the blood were filling with water.
Other symptoms were:
82 had fever
81 had a cough
31 had shortness of breath
11 had muscle ache
nine had confusion
eight had a headache
five had a sore throat
First deaths
The first two patients to die were seemingly healthy, although they were long-term smokers and that would have weakened their lungs.
The first, a 61-year-old man, had severe pneumonia when he arrived at hospital.
He was in acute respiratory distress, meaning his lungs were unable to provide enough oxygen to his organs to keep his body alive.
Despite being put on a ventilator, his lungs failed and his heart stopped beating.
He died 11 days after he was admitted.
The second patient, a 69-year-old man, also had acute respiratory distress syndrome.
He was attached to an artificial lung or ECMO (extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation) machine but this wasn’t enough.
He died of severe pneumonia and septic shock when his blood pressure collapsed.
At least 10% die
As of 25 January, of the 99 patients:
57 were still in hospital
31 had been discharged
11 had died
This does not mean the death rate of the disease is 11%, though, as some of those still in hospital may yet die and many others have such mild symptoms they do not end up in hospital.
Market workers
Live animals sold at the Huanan seafood market are thought to be the source of the infection, called 2019-nCoV.
And 49 out of the 99 patients had a direct connection to the market:
47 worked there, either as managers or manning the stalls
two were shoppers who had only popped in
Middle-aged men worst affected
Most of the 99 patients were middle-aged, with an average age of 56 - and 67 of them were men.
However, more recent figures suggest a more even gender split. The China Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said 1.2 men were infected for every 1.0 women.
There are two possible explanations for the difference:
Men could be more likely to become severely ill and need hospital treatment.
Men, for social or cultural reasons, may have been more likely to be exposed to the virus at the beginning of the outbreak
Dr Li Zhang, at the hospital, says: “The reduced susceptibility of females to viral infections could be attributed to the protection from X chromosome and sex hormones, which play an important role in immunity.”
And those who were already sick
Most of the 99 had other diseases that may have made them more vulnerable to the virus as a “result of the weaker immune functions of these patients”:
40 had a weak heart or damaged blood vessels due to conditions including heart disease, heart failure and stroke
A further 12 patients had diabetes.”

LOL. People are infected with no temperature. They are contagious without symptoms. Screening is not doing much.
Now just a cotton pickin’ minit here. Let’s be fair. The Corona Virus is an immigrant, too. It comes from a teeming shore, and is yearning to breath free. Let it in! Viruses reproduce quickly, and you can vaccinate against them until someone catches them. So in the name of vaccines yet to be, let it in! It will stop global warming by killing infants before they can leave a significant carbon footprint, in addition to enabling vaccine creation. Let it in!
Chinese cities cannot be any worse than what has happened in cities in America run by Democrats.
> “Screening is not doing much.”
Untrue. How is it you can impugn your screen name and reputation without doing a little background research?
That was a point I made yesterday on FB and there were some leftists that thought I was looney. Every leftists should look at this virus as a very good thing as they all claim that bee must reduce the population in order to save the earth. Heres the answer to their prayers.
Trump is getting some bad advice here, methinks. He needs to immediately stop incoming travel from China. That 14 day incubation period is a killer.
I guess it’s Trump’s fault after all.
