I agree. It’s also good for flood control and for water preservation. They have been working on a system of turbines installed inside tubes they can place along the shoreline. As wave waters rush in and out, they spin the turbines and generate electricity. This seems unlikely to generate a lot to me, but perhaps enough to power the homes on the shore. Of course if you buy an oceanfront home, the last thing you really want are a bunch of pipes installed on your beachfront.

as the water rushes in, it carries fish fry and smolts which are shredded in the turbines
