These scientists may have been wrong in their conclusions, I could not begin to critique what they say, but not once do they even hint that this is anything but an unstoppable natural cycle.

Except right at the end but I think that was in jest because in 1958 people were still sane enough to believe that man could not control Earth’s climate. the reader’s would have seen the jest immediately. Reading it today one might assume that we need to set the Earth’s thermostat.

We had just finishing the International Geophysical Year, where we were thinking by using actual physical measurements! Not mesmerized by computer simulation where the model is better then reality.

To be fair making physical measurements is hard, time consuming, expensive & sometimes dangerous, much better to code up a model then go to Starbucks & discuss the output.
