President Donald Trump was chastised Monday after video footage showed him goofing off as the national anthem played during a Super Bowl party at his West Palm Beach golf resort.
As everyone else around Trump (including his wife and youngest son) stood solemnly with their hands over their hearts, Trump fidgeted, waved his hands, pointed at people and pretended to conduct the music.
The video of the president cutting up during the anthem, first reported by the Miami Herald, was part of an Instagram story posted by a real estate agent at the party, which was held for a select group of the president’s supporters. The event cost American taxpayers $3.4 million, according to an analysis by HuffPost.
Trump has said that athletes who take a knee at NFL games to protest racism and police brutality — a movement launched by former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick — should be fired because they’re disrespecting America and the military.
“You have to stand proudly for the national anthem or you shouldn’t be playing — you shouldn’t be there,” Trump told “Fox & Friends” in 2018, adding, “Maybe you shouldn’t be in the country.”
When a football player takes a knee, the team owner should “get that son of a bitch off the field,” Trump told a rally in 2017.
Fox Nation host Tomi Lahren slammed celebrities Beyoncé and Jay-Z on Sunday for sitting during the anthem. She hasn’t yet remarked on the president’s antics.

Who'd do something like that?
This wasn’t at the game....why were they even standing? They play it on the radio everyday at noon.
My Dad fought in three wars and died in the third. I NEVER saw him stand for the national anthem at home. I did 25 years in the military, was sometimes shot at (badly), but I’ve never stood for the national anthem at home.
But I don’t watch football so I rarely hear the national anthem at home.

He’s at home with friends not out in public. Big deal.
It was the National Anthem sung before the game. They didn't play their own version.
And who was singing it? And what type of respectful outfit were they wearing?

Wow.
My girlfriend’s Dad is WWII vet. My brother-in-law is Korean War vet. And, my brother is Viet Nam war vet, with 2 military sons (West Point grad & Annapolis grad). I have never witnessed any of them standing up at home when we watch a Superbowl game/World Series game/Olympics ceremony, etc., while the Nation Anthem is played.

He should assume he is on film at all times. That’s the world we live in today. I wish he hadn’t acted out.
Somehow that's not what I think that these events were the intended destiny for the anthem.
Huffington Post, the major source of Trump hate articles. Tried to remove them from the yahoo feed, they never go away. When did they ever praise Trump for anything? Garbage in garbage out, all they say is Trump lies and accuse him of the littlest things that no one cares about. I believe their major appeal is on the left, the left side of the bell curve.
Demi Lovato. She was very well dresses in a white coat and skirt outfit, looked professional yet fashionable.
As a side not, Lovato also sang the National Anthem before Game 4 of the 2015 World Series...which was won by the Kansas City Royals in 5 games. Coincidence? I don't think so.

Well maybe the President should take my words of caution to heart? He's always being filmed by somebody and he can really trust nobody. This is an embarrassment that didn't need to happen.
I thought it strange that they were standing but, really, it’s a catch 22. Were I at the game I’d have stood and saluted... at home... I did not. Personally... I think he was playing with a grandkid.
NOW they’ve got an impeachable offense on him!
I have liberal friends who have been commenting about this on Facebook. I just stay away from political confrontations with them.
