Everything Is Coming Up Trump

As Speaker Nancy Pelosi tore up President Donald Trump's State of the Union speech page by page, she put the finishing touches on one of the greatest political rehab jobs of all time. The Democrats have managed to turn Trump into a thoroughly sympathetic figure.

From the start, Trump has not been treated like a normal president by people on either end of the political spectrum. On the left, Trump is viewed as a fascist, un-American monster, thoroughly unprepared for and undeserving of the highest office in our land. They never accepted his election and never gave him a chance -- angling for impeachment even before Trump was sworn into office.

On the other side, for a big chunk of the American right, Trump is viewed more as a messianic figure than a politician. These are Trump's core voters, people so frustrated by normal politicians that they were willing and eager to pass the reins to Trump. Their devotion to Trump is complete, and there is nothing that could erode it.

I’ve said for sometime he’s our Charles de Gaulle. Trump has done for Americans what the great French leader did for the French.

He has charisma, great confidence and stature. None of his rivals are in his league. Trump makes us feel good about our country.

That’s all that really matters.

*************

The simple reason the right strongly backs Trump is because he is a doer who does what he says he's going to do rather than a talker who is only interested in deceiving the voters with empty rhetoric. Trump produces results and he does so for the benefit of the country rather than himself.

Much of the country is sick and tired of lying, professional politicians and the corrosive effects of their self-serving policies.

Its not about being a messianic figure. Its about being a real person, flaws and all. With Trump its "what you see is what you get". That's so refreshing in our corrupt political envirnment that its makes him an admired and trusted figure by tens of millions of Americans.

I’m in my 60’s. This is the first President in my lifetime to fight for me.

The rest were all just politicians. President Trump is no politician.

I have been surprised that the left has been so hostile to someone who leaned Democrat for most of his life. I think that their obsessive hatred helped push him to be the president who has been the most effective at slowing the drift that has been turning most parts of our country into a place that those of us a few decades old hardly recognize.

The biggest surprise however has been President Trump's ability to unmask the media, unmask the RINOs, and illustrate who the Democrats really are. The way that demographics have been trending one would have thought that Republicans would have turned into the permanent minority party by now, but President Trump was the shot in the arm that we needed.

Aside from Trump’s pro-life stand, one of the biggest reasons I voted for him is that he was NOT a political insider.

I voted for the first time in 1976. I held my nose and voted for Ford. I’ve been holding my nose every election and was never pleased with the choices that were offered. I just voted against the one I despised the most. I never really paid much attention to the campaigning, because I knew that it was all lies and media hype. Then in 2016, Trump at least talked a good game, and wasn’t a politician running against a really dispicable opponent. I gladly voted for him, thinking that if he does even a fraction of what he talks about I’d be pleased. Trump may not be perfect, but he is far far better than the any disgusting democrat.

I said Trump isn’t a Republican or a Democrat.

Daughter, 37 years old, said, Trump isn’t a politician!
That’s why she likes him.

I first voted 1972, had to be 21 then, for Nixon. Not sorry?

You are right about that.

I’m sure you loved Reagan, as did I. But he was a polite, affable, genteel man, and once he got to Washington I think staffers, other Republicans and even Nancy dissuaded him from waging the fight the way he should have.

Nobody is going to stop Trump from doing so. Nobody.

And the fact Trump used Saul Alinsky's basic thirteen "Rules for Radicals" better than anyone else on the Left. Too bad. 😛😉😆

I, too, first voted for Nixon in 72. By then, although I was 21, the voting age was lowered to 18. I was peeved that children were voting next to me!

Since then my proudest votes have been for Reagan and Trump!

I voted for the first time in ‘76 too. I voted for Jimmy Carter. Hey, I was 20 years old. What did I know?

I lived during the Vietnam War era and the Reagan era when the Cold War was still in full swing.

I am an unequivocal supporter of Donald Trump and I agree with you. I haven't seen as good a President since Ronald Reagan.

The Left hated Reagan too primarily for his anti-Communist stand and his anti-welfare state policies.

In fact, the late leftist Democrat Ted Kennedy colluded with the Russians to undermine Reagan after he had first attempted to undermine a member of his own Democratic Party, Jimmy Carter.

I think the New York Liberal Republican Trump is out-Reaganing Reagan in conservative governance!

Whodathunk! Prior to 2016!

My first vote was for Gerald Ford who ran against Jimmy Carter in 1976. As my screen moniker indicates, my ancestors were charter members of the Republican Party.

It was generally believed that Gerald ford lost to Jimmy carter as a result of his pardoning Richard Nixon after Watergate.

The evil U.S. Supreme Court ruling that gave us Roe v. Wade occurred in 1973. Unfortunately, Jimmy Carter supported legalized abortion while proclaiming what became the usual Democratic "personally opposed" doublespeak - the pseudo-moral political twaddle which appeared to legitimize radical liberal politicians talking the talk without walking the walk come election time.

I don't think anyone can really label Trump as "Conservative" or "Liberal" - even though he leans more towards conservatism while incorporating the best of both camps into his plans for Making America Great Again.

The Democrats are getting mightily ticked off because while they have been doing little more than obsessing over impeachment, Trump has been stealing their thunder by borrowing and transforming some of the best policies from their playbook. i.e. "Opportunity Zones" spearheaded by Senator Tim Scott.

https://www.redstate.com/jeffc/2019/12/22/redstate-exclusive-senator-tim-scott-talks-opportunity-zones-and-outreach-part-1/

In fact, spiteful Democrats are trying to interfere with it.

https://www.libertynation.com/spiteful-democrats-target-opportunity-zones-initiative/

Previously, under the Democratic plan there was the subprime lending scheme which hurt the black community.

https://prospect.org/justice/staggering-loss-black-wealth-due-subprime-scandal-continues-unabated/

I think you are correct in saying "the New York Liberal Republican Trump is out-Reaganing Reagan in conservative governance!" It is not to be forgotten that Reagan, like Trump, started out as a Democrat, remaining one until 1962 when he switched to the Republican Party.

The voting age in 1972 was 18? I was 21 already. I guess that is where I got the 21 idea....

I am still angry for how they mistreated Nixon.

Now Trump!

MAGA
