The Story Mitt Romney Should Have Read Before He Betrayed the GOP on Impeachment

The Democrats’ impeachment push is dead. A lot of us knew this would be the outcome. Republicans control the Senate. There was no way 67 Senators were going to sign off on this hyper-partisan witch-hunt. This was dead from the start. Still, we all knew Democrats were fishing for reasons to impeach Trump. Russian collusion was the top idea for two years before Robert Mueller’s report killed that narrative. Then, came this Ukraine angle, which was an offshoot of the Trump-Kremlin collusion myth. You all know the story. Trump allegedly threatened to withhold aid to Ukraine unless they investigated Hunter Biden on corruption charges stemming from his board position at an energy company, which he held since daddy Biden was vice president. He has no experience in the energy sector, but he was allegedly there to sell access to then-top Obama officials.

All of this came from a whistleblower report drafted by a reported CIA agent, who is also a registered Democrat and someone who had worked with a 2020 candidate. This person reportedly contacted Rep. Adam Schiff’s (D-CA) staff. Schiff knows this person and prepared to weaponize its contents before the complaint was formally filed. Yeah, this isn’t collusion at all, right? This doesn’t sound deep state-y at all, right? It’s the core piece that truly undercuts this whole circus. It was never about law and order, institutional integrity, etc. it was about the 2016 election. It was about the Left’s hatred of Trump.  It’s a story that maybe Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) should have focused on instead of betraying the party by voting to convict Trump on the nonsensical abuse of power charge. To make matter worse, we have this reported story of the whistleblower overheard discussing how to take Trump out with another national security staffer back in 2017. Now, before we get into this, we probably know who the whistleblower is—you’ve all heard his name—but we won’t publish it here. It still has yet to be confirmed, but it’s a bit moot now that we’ve won this impeachment fight. Paul Sperry and Real Clear Investigations have this person’s name on their reports, however. That should suffice. The point is this alleged story should have at least sparked Romney’s curiosity into whether this whole thing was a partisan clown show. It was a partisan clown show—but Mitt fell for the Democrats’ appallingly transparent political moves with this impeachment push. And now he’s the biggest dunce on the Hill. Everyone, even the most ardent liberals, knew what this was all about, Mitt. Helen Keller could’ve figured this out as well:

Via RealClearInvestigations:

Barely two weeks after Donald Trump took office…the CIA analyst whose name was recently linked in a tweet by the president and mentioned by lawmakers as the anonymous “whistleblower" who touched off Trump's impeachment – was overheard in the White House discussing with another staffer how to remove the newly elected president from office, according to former colleagues.

[…]

Both were Obama administration holdovers working in the Trump White House on foreign policy and national security issues. And both expressed anger over Trump’s new “America First” foreign policy, a sea change from President Obama’s approach to international affairs.

“Just days after he was sworn in they were already talking about trying to get rid of him,” said a White House colleague who overheard their conversation.

“They weren’t just bent on subverting his agenda,” the former official added. “They were plotting to actually have him removed from office.”

[…]

The coordination between the official believed to be the whistleblower and a key Democratic staffer, details of which are disclosed here for the first time, undercuts the narrative that impeachment developed spontaneously out of what Trump's Democratic antagonists call the “patriotism" of an “apolitical civil servant."

As with CNN, let’s take this with a grain of salt due to the anonymous source angle, but I think we all knew this wasn’t executed out of love of country from Democrats. And it is a fact that the whistleblower did contact Schiff beforehand. Schiff, chair of the House Intelligence Committee, was the starting QB for this effort. Sperry does great work, but anonymous sources have turned out to be shots in the dark, though they have been useful in years past. That was before the Trump White House drove this town insane over the fact that they won an election. Still, the prior contact should have been a huge red flag for Mitt that Democrats were just plain angry at the president for beating Hillary and that all of the theatrics were a poorly produced play to remove a duly elected president. He didn’t see that and become Benedict Romney instead. Can we expel him from the party now?

I'm not going to play along with the ridiculous narrative that poor naive Mitt got duped. His traitorous vote was in the bag from day one.

A very competitive title, if you ask me. Maybe the most competitive title in Washington, DC.

The plan to impeach Trump before he was elected and is documented in David Brocks plan of action The weekend of the inauguration, Brock met with key leaders to discuss the plan.

Perhaps Romney will leave the Republican party?

But if he does, will the GOP have trouble retaining control of the Senate after the November elections?

I’ve heard that this year’s Senate map.is tough for the GOP.

Just saying, down the road Romney’s vote could be crucial to the GOP retaining control of the Senate. Right now the GOP has 53 out of 100 including Romney.

This carpet-bagging massachusetts LIB globalist loser should be not only thrown out of the republican party, he should be investigated for his and his extended family’s corruption. What an absolute, integrity-free putz.

Mitch should see to it that Mitt is so isolated in the Senate that he can’t find a seat mate in the cafeteria.

You make a good point.

IMHO, Romney's action represented a mix of self promotion, kissing up to the media and Hollywood celebs, envy, pathological hatred.

Perhaps Romney is already scheming to run in 2024 on the Democratic ticket for POTUS. He sure received a lot of media attention with his smug, self-righteous, and fake comments.

Romney doesn’t care.
He is working to try to save the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA).
It is a necessary step to subsume the USA to the UN to get to the New World Order Daddy Bush dreamed of.
