Excellent suggestions! A couple of liberal counties adjacent to DC and, of course, Baltimore City combine to dominate state politics. The Democrats own the Maryland state house.

The Eastern Short is ideally situated, geographically, culturally and politically, to separate from the insanity in Annapolis and its big eonough be a state in its own right. A lot of Marylanders would love to see it happen.
