what a sad way to go. Make to 91 and get taken out by a car. Hope the driver had insurance.

It’s not necessarily the driver’s fault, as he was jaywalking. His clothing may not have been reflective enough to be easily seen as well.

It’s a terrible accident in any case.

Reports are that he was jaywalking. California is a comparative negligence state, meaning that a plaintiff can't recover to the his extent his damages resulted from his own negligence. If he was jaywalking, especially if after dark, there certainly is an argument that he was 100% responsible and should recover nothing from the drivers.

It’s not the driver’s fault! The article clearly says the car did it! Obviously we need a reasonable common sense car ban! If it saves just one life it’s worth it!

It's California. If he was white, then he's required to have insurance and a driver's license.

VERY sad. I always liked Orson Bean. I remember him from way back on 'To Tell The Truth'.

Prayers for his daughter (the late Andrew Breitbart's wife) and Orson Bean's entire family. RIP, Orson Bean.
