Seems like the Japanese are treating the ship as isolation... which is very unfortunate for the as-yet uninfected on board.

That's the far Eastern herd mentality that the individual must always be subordinate to the needs of the group.

Well they let the people on that cruise ship dock 20 minutes from my house in Bayonne.

I had no problem with them being stuck at sea.

Better than the thousands that might die from releasing those who they THINK aren’t infected.

In this case, yeah one culture was more than equal.

They did the smart thing

There is indeed an Eastern herd mentality but it is also a Socialist/Communist mentality wherein the needs of society always supersedes the needs of the individual.

People will tolerate subservience to the state until their individual lives are at stake. Witness the people struggling and fighting NOT to be forced into quarantine in China. That is when the individual is reborn.
