The lead prosecutor in Roger Stone's criminal case abruptly resigned from the case on Tuesday after the Justice Department said it planned to reduce the recommended sentence for the longtime Trump associate.

The Justice Department was pulling back on its request to sentence Stone to seven to nine years in prison after President Donald Trump blasted the sentencing proposal as "a miscarriage of justice."

“The department finds the recommendation extreme and excessive and will clarify its position later today," a senior department official confirmed to NBC News.

After the reports of the imminent softer sentencing recommendation, lead prosecutor Aaron Zelinsky withdrew as a prosecutor in the case. A footnote in his court filing noted that "the undersigned attorney has resigned effective immediately."

Zelinsky, who was a part of former special counsel Robert Mueller's team investigating Russian election interference, is not resigning from the Justice Department but is leaving the Washington, D.C. U.S. Attorney’s Office and returning to his old job with the U.S. Attorney in Maryland.

Do these people that inhabit our legal system understand that there is intense hatred and loathing coming against them from the left, the right and all points in between?
We have an unaccountable and rogue federal justice system. They will receive Divine retribution. May their ride to Hell be soon, swift and deep. Then justice will finally prevail.

Feb.7 Wray said there was “conduct that is utterly unacceptable.” The middle of the night raid on Rodger Stone was under your watch. Are you also going to rehab with the rest of the FBI?

You can’t make a good case, or any case, from fecal matter.

There’s been only one worse case in the history of mankind—that was the case for the impeachment of Trump.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Tonight, I’d put money on “never”, but I try to never say ‘never’. Schitt wearing bracelets is a fun thought - a straitjacket would be a nice look, too.

Regardless of what the Department of Justice recommends for sentencing Roger Stone was convicted by a jury and he’ll be sentenced by an Obama appointed judge.
“On February 18, 2019, Stone posted on Instagram a photo of the federal judge overseeing his case, Amy Berman Jackson, with what resembled rifle scope crosshairs next to her head. Later that day, Stone filed an apology with the court. Jackson then imposed a full gag order on Stone, citing her belief that Stone would “pose a danger” to others without the order.”—Wikipedia
Its not smart to piss off a federal judge who will be sentencing you.

I need information.

WHO at DoJ put those four prosecutors on this case?

WHO lied to DoJ higher-ups about the proposed sentence?

I need a name and job title (or two if it’s two different people).

Prosecutors don’t give a damn about justice. They give a damn about getting scalps in high profile career enhancing cases.

Looks like Attorney General Barr is still recommending jail time for Roger Stone, just not 7-9 years.
The government respectfully submits that a sentence of incarceration far less than 87 to 108 months’ imprisonment would be reasonable under the circumstances,” DOJ wrote.

The department said it would ultimately defer to the court as to the specific sentence to be imposed, but that the previous recommendation “does not accurately reflect the Department of Justice’s position on what would be a reasonable sentence in this matter.”

“While it remains the position of the United States that a sentence of incarceration is warranted here, the government respectfully submits that the range of 87 to 108 months presented as the applicable advisory Guidelines range would not be appropriate or serve the interests of justice in this case.”

Come on... he wasn’t a mob figure.

Perhaps someone else here can make a good case otherwise.

The case makes itself when we realize that the PROSECUTORS involved are ALL DEEP-STATERS and ANTI-TRUMPSTERS!
